Serious incident on Royal

Of course the Cruise Line wants to keep it rather quiet.  Do not blame them at all.

Can not believe the knife thing continues to pop up.  As to the staff keeping track in the dining room - that is another laugh. Along with being very difficult, they have knives available in the buffet that NOBODY could keep track of.  Really folks, do you think it is that  hard to have a knife in your luggage?   LOL!

As to anyone worried about their family getting home - there should be no more concern than any other trip.  Just one incident.

Well my family is on the ship and the news is saying that the husband is NOT a suspect. So if he is not a suspect and this woman has passed away like this.... who is the suspect? They say there is video, you would think they would have a clear idea who the suspect is.

Well I haven’t read any news releases where it says the husband is not the suspect. Everything I have read refers to the victims partner being in custody and that no charges have be laid yet. I can’t imagine the authorities would have allowed passengers off the ship in Aruba if they did not have a suspect in custody or for the ship to sail on to Bonaire without arresting someone. What you are saying does not make sense and does not align with the media reports.

This is an article posted today by Yahoo News UK:

https://www.yahoo.com/news/murder-probe-woman-choked-thrown-top-deck-luxury-caribbean-cruise-ship-090302097.html

The article states that the partner was taken off the ship in Aruba by authorities but has not yet been charged.

And this one is from ABC and says he is not currently a suspect

Not sure which article is correct but the one from Yahoo News UK is more current than the ABC article. Perhaps Yahoo has the correct information?

As mentioned before untrue rumors are out there. This was an unfortunate suicide. Very heartbreaking.

Source?

Or is that another rumor?

wow; all kinds of theories on here.  Great detectives from afar.  Suicide.  Murder.  Husband.  Partner.  He did it.  He didn't do it.  Video posted somewhere of an amputation?  Poor woman; may she rest in peace and the creep that did this to her pay for the crime or her soul rest in peace if she did jump (sure doesn't sound like it but you never know unless you have all the facts).

I know the couple. Wanting to put everyone’s mind at ease about a killer out there. Husband was asleep in the cabin it was 4am.  Very sad situation. It is too bad that she choose this. Please keep her husband, children and grandchild in your thoughts and prayers.

Are you suggesting she committed suicide?

We just returned home from that cruise....lots of rumors....the only fact is that there was an announcement over the ship PA, at about 3:30 Tuesday that there was an emergency on deck 7 at the lifeboats....we don't think that the announcement was intended for all the cabins to hear...someone push the wrong button?

We saw Police board the ship at Aruba  before any passengers were allowed off....the rest...speculation and rumor...

We are sitting in the airport after debarking what was otherwise a great cruise.

In terms of this incident I feel it will be a long time before the rumors and speculation become fact.  We heard various snippets aboard the ship, including the fighting in the casino prior to the actual tragedy.  It seems most likely that this was a triangle of some sorts gone bad as most reports seemed to differentiate between the “muscular man” seen choking her before she went overboard and her husband.  It was also theorized that those involved were part of a body building group onboard.  In any case, Captain Nash announced Wednesday evening that there had indeed been a tragic death onboard, that the deceased and her family members had been disembarked in Aruba and we had been cleared to sail on to Bonaire.  There were also repeated calls over the PA system the morning of the tragedy for the passengers in two cabins to contact guest services immediately - presumably family members or traveling companions, or possibly witnesses.  Nothing good typically happens at 4:00 am....very sad and senseless.

On another note, the issues mentioned on the prior cruise (noro, influenza) seemed to have resolved.  We did have a delayed boarding for a deep cleaning, but other than that there were no protocols in place - self serve at buffet and salt and pepper on the table, etc.

It was said the woman was having an onboard affair with one PAX in a group of weightlifters.  In a drunken stupor,  the perp  strangled,   and tossed her over the rail.

Another thought - some weight lifters/body builders are known to take steroids which can have the effect of making them susceptible to anger issues with or without alcohol So if the red mist rose it wouldn't matter whether they were on a ship or anywhere else all logical thought goes out the window - no pun intended

It was not a suicide.

Is it true  the woman was stabbed with a steak knife, choked, then thrown over the rail by her newly found onboard weightlifting paramour?
