April Jewel Posted November 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2018 Anyone know what types of gin and tonic Celebrity serve? Looking forward to our cruise next week and I'm partial to a nice gin and tonic (flavoured or otherwise) and wondered if anyone knew what sorts of both gin and tonic they have available. Thanks Tammy
Lazz Posted November 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2018 I do believe they have Tanqueray
Fla Mike Posted November 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) Not sure of the tonics offered but here is a link to the Celebrity Beverage Packages that list all the brands. Just click on the blue "Learn More" buttons next to each package. The Gin offerings look pretty standard. I'm sure someone will chime in with more info and prices. Rare ghstudio Posted November 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2018 that's not a list of all the gins...it's a representative list. You will find many more at the martini bar.
lovescarborough Posted November 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2018 Never seen fever tree tonic. They usually bring it ready mixed and I suspect it's the stuff that comes out of those push button things you see in UK pubs. We have sometimes asked for low calorie tonic and been given Canada Dry in a small bottle. Also I have never seen any flavoured gins.
barbette165 Posted November 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 18, 2018 Based on my experience from November 2017 with the Classic bev package, tonic is just seen by Celebrity as something to add to the gin to make it into a long drink. I’ve been given Canada Dry as well as another brand I can’t remember the name of. It has come from either cans or litre bottles that may have been open for some time, and you may get the end of one can/bottle and the start of another. m8zenblue Posted November 18, 2018 #12 Share Posted November 18, 2018 I love Gin and Tonic ! They also have Bombay Sapphire in the Classic Package ! Not sure about the tonic, it think it's a generic fountain tonic, it's a shame to mess up good Gin.
barneyboy Posted November 18, 2018 #13 Share Posted November 18, 2018 Good selection of gins but unfortunately the tonic is pretty poor and sometimes flat. My husbands favourite at home is Tanqueray 10 with Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic but there is no Fever Tree on board.
George C Posted November 18, 2018 #14 Share Posted November 18, 2018 I always get Bombay sapphire.
mmmongo Posted November 18, 2018 #15 Share Posted November 18, 2018 Agree on Sapphire and Tonic..... I don't give as uch thought to the tonic itself.....maybe I should! hmmm
Rare groryjm Posted November 18, 2018 #16 Share Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) I think you will find the range of gins is perhaps two or three with Star of Bombay at the top.... not quite what is available in many UK gin bars with twenty or thirty to choose from with Star of Bombay near the bottom......(Tanqueray ten is in a different league compared to Star of Bombay)... I had a long discussion with Jamie Pett in Michael's last year and we agreed that the US had a long way to go to catch up with the UK gin scene Edited November 18, 2018 by groryjm
FloatSomeMore Posted November 18, 2018 #17 Share Posted November 18, 2018 They do not have Fever Tree (also our favorite). We will bring our own!
LIMPIT Posted November 18, 2018 #18 Share Posted November 18, 2018 My DW loves Pink Gin with Lemonade, after reading the comments on this thread, looks like she is going to be disappointed on our forthcoming cruise.

Forgot to say that our barman in Micheal's Club, Jonathan, made up his own tonic. We had some amazing G & Ts from him which made up for the lack of Fevertree. Ozzmund Posted November 19, 2018 #21 Share Posted November 19, 2018 My visits to London are always enhanced by the variety of gins and tonics not normally found here in Minnesota. My wife only drinks diet tonic so she is quite happy with the Canada Dry offering on Celebrity. I on the other hand soldier on and switch to Bombay Sapphire martinis

2Long2NxtCrz Posted November 19, 2018 #25 Share Posted November 19, 2018 Oh Harmony of the Seas this past June I could get "The Botanist" gin which is amazing. I'm surprised at the meager selection of gins. Oh, well. I'm still a bourbon gal even if a dear friend is trying to convert me to gin (and it's working!). I wish they had fever tree tonic, but I get why they don't. I'll remind hubby he can get diet tonic.
