If bid is accepted and don't love the location of the newly assigned cabin and others in same category still are available, will they change if I call?

The official answer is no, but you may get lucky.

Booked a CP balcony and am pending for an OV balcony, lots available so I am still hopeful

Even if you get a denial email, check on board for upgrades.

Biker, who thinks the on board upgrade fairy will go away soon.

If Royal up bid gets their act together and grabs the bids BEFORE boarding...there would be no on board upgrade needed.  😮

Waiting until after sail away in the middle of the night....leaves the door wide open at GS desk.  😉

In the current situation with high case counts, there will be very late cancellations,…some too late for RoyalUp.  Some people will be canceled at port when an unvaccinated child tests positive.  Others will hear just hours before the cruise that a close contact tested positive.  Somebody will wake up with symptoms on the day of the cruise.

So color me curious. I'm currently booked in a guarantee Ocean View Balcony on Allure OTS for my Feb 27th cruise. I received my Royal Up invitation email. I can bid on 2 classes of larger balcony rooms, and Jr Suites, Grand Suites, 2Br Grand Suites, and Owner Suites, but not the CLS suites which like the other suites is just a sky class suite... Kinda bummed about that. I was willing to make a reasonable bid for one of those rooms, now I guess we are just going to make lowball bids on the GS and JS.

Anyone know why I would not have the ability to bid on a CLS?

There is a limit to how many category codes above your original booking that you can bid on.

Ahh.. I wonder why the CLS category is above a GS 2BR or an OS. Those rooms usually go for more than the CLS.

We are still waiting to hear about our bid for Navigator OTS that sails on Monday.  RC website shows cabins available in every category and ready for purchase at very high prices.  Our bid still says "pending" so I guess we have a chance but not holding out to much hope.  Now we just have to test negative in the morning and we are ready to go.

Just sharing. Our Royal up bid was accepted two days ago. Independence of the Seas, January 31, 2022. (4night) we were in a “free“ guaranteed balcony casino comp. We bid on three rooms, Grand Suite 2 bedroom, Grand Suite one bedroom, and a Junior suite.  Won our bid for the one bedroom grand suite at $245 per person. First time in a Grand Suite! Super excited!

On the Anthem for 1/20, we have a large balcony and were able to big on loft suites, owners suites, grand suites etc.
I did put in a bid but we are good with our balcony.  The loft suite looked cool.

Have you heard back if any bid was accepted?

I'm also waiting for my bid for the  Navigator 17th cruise.  I hope we find out soon but after reading some of the posts it seems like we might not find out until Monday.  Ugghh

No I only bid for the Loft one.  And only because it's sort of unique.  We had a grand suite on the New Years cruise.  We weren't impressed.  Royal's suites don't offer the amenities of NCL, Celebrity or MSC for us to bother with.

Still waiting.  Given that they are still selling cabins the light for us is dimming I am afraid. We head out about 7 am tomorrow for San Pedro, a 500 mile trip.  I have realized that we can do muster drill and health questionnaire both before boarding so that will help.

Yes, because your original booking was a suite, even if JS doesn’t have full suite benefits.

Yes, I was responding to a "limit to how many category codes above your original booking that you can bid on."

I was offered a bunch. The one prior offered seven categories above. Just wish I could win one!
