Not 5 and 7:15 as advertised. Yes, as we signed up for 8:15, 7:45 is at least reasonable...
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2018 Author #27 Share Posted December 15, 2018 At muster drill now. As with recent cruises, it’s nice to no longer have to drag one’s life jacket to muster.
1emerald1 Posted December 15, 2018 #28 Share Posted December 15, 2018 I love your reviews! How are you liking the food in the MDR? I know it's subjective, but just wondering. Thanks.

musicpro442 Posted December 15, 2018 #33 Share Posted December 15, 2018 (edited) Barbi McCulloch is a tremendous vocalist. We were onboard Royal last cruise and her one showtime in the Vista Lounge (10:00) had two standing ovations. People were giving her individual standing ovations between songs and the line to talk to her afterward was more than twenty minutes long. You should most certainly see her show if you can. She's also the guest soprano for Encore and her Queen of the Night aria was flawless. Definitely do not miss Encore with her as the soloist or her show. I've been lucky enough to see her on two ships. Edited December 15, 2018 by musicpro442 typo

Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 15, 2018 Author #36 Share Posted December 15, 2018 Got called to the naughty room for the power bar in our suitcase that does NOT have a surge protector. Once they saw it, it was fine, other than a waste of time. Tip: put power bars in your carry-on instead.

Rare hllwdcruiser Posted December 15, 2018 #39 Share Posted December 15, 2018 Love your reviews and am following along! Thanks for the tip on the power strips, we always pack ours and have never been to the naughty room but won't take that risk anymore. Who needs that time suck when you are on a cruise?!? They don't care, if it looks like a surge protector even though its not they will take it. I would pack it. At least onboard you can plead your case to security. In the terminal they will give a receipt to pick up on disembarkation day.
Rare TracieABD Posted December 16, 2018 #41 Share Posted December 16, 2018 Nice start! We were on the Nov. 24 sailing right before the mini dry-dock. I will be excited to hear of the changes coming forward! Bon voyage!
Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 16, 2018 Author #42 Share Posted December 16, 2018 The best place to watch ships leave Ft. Lauderdale: the jetty at the end of Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park. It looks like it’s been repaired from the hurricane damage.

Rare CanadianBurger Posted December 16, 2018 Author #44 Share Posted December 16, 2018 MDR Dinner was average. Our request for a table of eight was not honored, so we had gone to see the maitre d’ earlier to switch tables. I forgot the menu pics, but here are some of the dishes. The soufflé was excellent. The TV map was only enabled two days ago. That and the weather app were both down for the first 6 days of our cruise due to glitches from the change out of the TVs and the installation of OM. I really missed it as I like to check our progress. Enjoy!

She was amazing but I also thought that the other vocalists seemed to all be wonderful and a notch above what we've experienced on other cruises.
