Tips in Dollars or Euro?

We usually give the Steward a tip at the end of our cruise in US dollars. In August I am doing a Med cruise so do I still tip in US dollars or Euro?

Euros would be most handy as they could spend them right away in the various ports. USD works fine also, as they can convert it to spend, or send it home easily.   They're appreciative either way..

Sometimes I have given both, in the same envelope, depending on what I have left and what I don't want to take home.   No one has ever given me anything back.  

They are always nice, later that evening, or the next morning.

Either currency would work but if the ship is continuing in Europe then Euros might certainly be appreciated more.

I concur with those who give Euros, if: 1. the ship is remaining in Europe; or 2. if I want to get rid of remaining Euros AND am not planning another cruise in the near future where Euros will be needed. 

No one has ever complained if I tipped them with USD either, no matter where I am disembarking!!

We always tip $20 USD upon first meeting our steward and an additional $20 on the last night.  It has always been deeply appreciated.  They're paid in USD.

We would tip additional with either Euros or US $$ at the end of the cruise.

They would appreciate either.

People who work in travel related jobs are well versed in handling money from different countries.... no need to be concerned

You go, Tony!  Too much fun😋  Would that be in doubloons?  While checking on this, I learned that doubloons were gold, but pieces of eight were silver.  Both were produced by Spain.
