So true 🙂

Your party pictures are fabulous! Is that artichokes under the olives on the charcuterie tray ? I also would have made a meal out of that gorgeous spread.

Yes artichokes, and yes we did😁we didn't go to dinner.  We also had a few hot items in the silver steamer but didn't open it for photos....sorry.

And, are those figs in the middle? Yum

No figs, not sure which photo your talking about.  We had some super size grapes, and one tray had limes with spices covering them.  But I can a sure you all was good.

Coming into Juneau this morning is truly a beautiful site, the mountains, the trees and a bit of snow.  The sun is out; it’s not warm but really nice out.  One of the benefits of having this suite is the two windows in the dining area and the two in the bedroom, being in front of the ship just above the bridge.

This gives you a true life picture of where you’re going.  And here in Alaska is truly a site to see.  Of course the large patio/deck door and windows are also great for viewing as the great outdoors passes right before you; one can really say it’s unbelievable.

No internet again this morning so I don’t know when this will get out.  It’s been out for a while now and don’t have any idea when it will be back on.

Lunch will be in Juneau at Tracy’s King Crab Shack hoping not too many ships will be in port or Tracy’s will be busy.  Tracy’s is within walking distant from the ship as we should dock right down town.

It’s back on so I’ll send these photos out now. And it's Sunny and Warm😎

Have you been to Tracy's King Crab Shack before?  We are thinking of trying it and look forward to your review of the restaurant.

The set-up for your party was lovely.  It is nice to have people in your suite - especially for a spillway when it is still light outside.

It was 30°C when we were in Juneau. We took a tour - whales, glaciers etc - and then ordered pizza from room service and ate it out on our balcony.  Seems as though Juneau is the "Alaskan riviera" !!

Your photos of the "fjord" around juneau are wonderful...

Thank you and yes we've to Tracy's before, just got back and it is soon good.  The crab you get on the ship is OK, but nothing like what you get at Tracy's. It's informal, but it does cost and worth it.

Off the ship and on our way to Tracy’s King Crab just a short walk from the ship’s docking place.  What can I say; it’s really good and worth the price.  What you get on the ship is just typical any buffet crab.  Tracy’s was full of sweetest and really big, the smallest leg was 12oz of crab not counting the shell. We also had a small bowl of crab chowder also really good.  The rolls are just that, rolls-don’t fill up on rolls when you can order all the crab you want—we’re full.

Just another point the wait staff is fun and really makes sure you’re enjoying yourself.  You can order a combo or a bucket of crab.  Or what even you want off the menu, remember pricey but worth it.

Most likely you won’t be here that often, so do it when you can otherwise you’ll be sorry later.

Here are a few photo’s.

OMG, you are right about the Crab Shack.  Eat a light breakfast or just have juice or coffee before heading out. We stuffed ourselves there and the crab is to die for.  You can’t get any fresher crab.

We continue to enjoy your photos.

Ok, limes with spices it is! I thought it would be hard for them to come up with fresh figs, but then I remember being blown away by the quality and variety of the fruit we received in our room in Jan.

The quality on this ship pretty good I have to say---sometimes some the melons are so so.  The grapes are really good.  But no figs😪which would b  great with a little goat cheese under a broiler for a 1min or 2.

It’s night now and the sun is beginning to set in the west, it’s a pleasant evening not to cold just right.  I was sitting on the deck for a while taking in the fresh air and the beautiful snow top mountains.

Tonight they did an Italian Buffet for dinner; I think to accommodate the people on tour today as we leave at 11:00PM tonight.  The cold items on the buffet are pretty good, but the hot items just don’t even come close to Italian eating.  I really think if you’re going to have Italian food you need an Italian Chef period or don’t do it.

Now the service was no problem, in fact it was very good in the restaurant.

We only have 4 more days so we’ll be eating at Prime 7 or Compass Rose to end the trip.  Here are some additional photos including the buffet, don’t forget even though the pictures may look good that we’re posting – the hot items didn’t have the Italian taste you’d want to have when eating Italian.  Don't forget this our opinion and may not be the same with others on the ship.

That’s our story and we’re sticking to it!

Oh some of you have been asking about Ron’s book “How To Do Nothing”, well it’s still not on the best seller list yet because he hasn’t got passed the title page yet.  Today Ron went out to write at the pool area being that it was so nice out, but had dessert instead and ended up talking to some friends.

I’m guessing once we’re on the Splendor he’ll try again, he’ll have 30 days to write.  Maybe I’ll work out something with the Casino and we can take odds.  Till then pre-sells are doing as expected.

PS: The sunset in Juneau from our deck.

We have been  to Tracy’s Crab Shack many times over the years. Years ago it was just a tent on the dock.  We have always enjoyed great crab , bisque & crab cakes!

Rick, was the Italian buffet in La Veranda in lieu of Sette Mari?  Were the other restaurants open?

Enjoying all of your info and pics. Have a great last few days!

Bob

Yes and yes, it wasn't like the big deck parties Regent does-just a buffet🤔 nothing special at all.

Your blog is such a treat to look forward to every day. Thank you for the great details and photos.

All much appreciated!

Thanks, we're enjoying doing it-it's been fun and doesn't take much time at all.  Except with down loading/ uploading is slow.

We will sign up, but 2021 is a long way off.  Are you doing any cruises before 2021?
