A.I. SO CONFUSED!!

Hi All,

Hope you can help.

We want to go to an all inclusive for our day in Cozumel, but the more we read the reviews, the more confused we are about where to go.

Each place seems to have mostly good reviews, but I am hoping that I can get some opinions on the pro's and cons of each place to help us make our choice.

The places that we are considering are Nachi Cocum, Mr. Sanchos, and Paradise Beach.

We are 3 fun-loving mid-age women, and one elderly mother that will be going to the A.I. with us. We like to have fun, but my "over the top" days are over. LOL.  We would all like a nice beach for swimming, chairs and umbrella's, perhaps some shade for our mother, some food, and a few good drinks. Not looking to crawl back to the ship. (Been there, done that.)

Above all, we want to be somewhere safe, clean, friendly, has a nice beach or pool for swimming, and not extremely far from the cruise port.

There are suppose to be 4 ships in port that day, and I don't want to be late getting back to the ship with all the traffic.

Sorry I am babbling, but I thought that the more information I provide, the easier it would be for someone to help us compare and pick the right place to spend our day.

We would appreciate any help you can provide to us.

Thank You in advance!!!!

4 ships is a light load for Cozumel.  All three clubs are about the same distance from the piers, and cab fare should be equal no matter which you choose. You will have a good time and should be safe no matter which you choose - just keep track of ship's time and when you need to be back.

I've been to all 3 and it sort of depends upon your priorities. Nachi Cocom offers great food and service, a small pool with swim up bar, nice beach, and will be quiet and relaxing due to the limit of 130 guests per day. You each get a 4 course meal with good sized portions, but not technically AI where you order anything you want, as much as you want, from the menu. I usually cannot finish all 4 courses.

You can see the water toys at Sanchos from Nachi. Sanchos will be much more lively and crowded, with several small pools.Nice beach with lots of shopping and other add ons available (massage, pedicure, etc.), and you order from the menu - on very busy days they sometimes limit everyone to the buffet.

Paradise Beach will also be more crowded than Nachi, offers a HUGE pool and the best facilities of the three. True AI in that you can order anything from the menu as often as you want - the taco truck was popular when we were there in February. Your assigned waiter will take care of you all day.

When my wife and I cruise we prefer Nachi. When my daughters join us we wind up at Sanchos (more singles action) or Paradise Beach (more families and they love the lounge chairs built into the pool).  You call!

John has given good synopsis.

I would add if you want quiet and limited activities- Nachi.

if you think you want more activities- water inflatables, kayaks, parasailing etc either of the other two although Paradise has excellent facilities and very nice pool if that is important.

If you don’t need AI Sanchos and Paradise have the option of PAYG but everyone in the group has to chooses the same.

4 ships is a very light load but there will be more traffic if you dock at Langosta and have to make your way back there.

GREAT descriptions of those 3!! I call Nachi. No worries from start to finish.

I've never been to Paradise, but between Nachi and Sanchos - for my wife and I (both in our 40s) the choice is easily Nachi Cocom.

The food and especially the drinks are so much better there. When we went to Sanchos, all the drinks were made with the same brand of cheap mixers and they had a really weird taste - kinda like saccharin or some other artificial sweetener. Plus they only has two kinds of beer and it was served in little plastic cups and poured out of 40 ounce bottles. If you want a party, spring break atmosphere though, Sanchos is the place to go. If you don't want that, Nachi Cocom is the best.

Thank you for all of your responses.

I think I will cross off Mr. Sanchos  off my list. A little too rowdy for us I think. (First time I ever said that. OH NO!!)

Now I just have to choose from Paradise and Nachi. Hmmm.

One last important deal maker/breaker question regarding my mother....

WHO OFFERS MORE SHADE?

My mother enjoys some sun, but does prefer a shady spot if she is going to be out for more than a few hours.

Thank You again.

I’ve never seen anyone mention them limiting Mr. Sanchos to buffet only if it’s crowded. Has that happened a lot that you know of? There will be 6 ships in port the day that I’m there.

I agree that Nachi Cocom offers great food and service and is quiet and relaxing due to limiting the number of guests.  The pool is small

I would not recommend Mr Sanchos

I love Paradise Beach but have never done the AI thing there.  I have only done the pay as you go there which is really reasonable.  It has the best facilities and a huge pool.  And it will offer more shade options than Nachi . I like shade, my spouse likes sun.   They have a host of loungers on the beach as well as on the beach area with lots of palm trees providing shade if you want that.

We will be at Paradise this Saturday from the Carnival Dream. Been to Cozumel before, but first time here. We're 2 women (52 & 47), daughter (27) and grandson (4). We got the AI for the day and are looking forward to it!

I hope deanaw72 comes back to let us know how Paradise beach was, but in any case, based on everyone's help and opinions, we have decided on Paradise Beach for our 11/4 cruise.

  • We like the idea of a large pool. Especially in November when we are not sure how warm the ocean will be for swimming. Also like the idea of the lounge chairs being inside of the pool. I love that at other resorts.
  • Sounds like there will be plenty of shade for my mother if she needs it.
  • Appreciate having well maintained facilities.
  • Didn't really hear anything bad about the food and drinks from anyone who offered us their opinion.
  • I think we will have a great time at Paradise Beach. Praying for warm weather and lots of sun!!
  • Thank You everyone.

Paradise Beach was great! Service was wonderful, everything was nice and clean. Good food and drinks, no pushy vendors selling trinkets on the beach. Water toys were fun, even though the 4-year old was scared at first. Lots of shade, as 3 of the 4 of us burn easily. We're planning another short cruise for Spring Break and plan to go back when we stop in Cozumel. I highly recommend!

Nice information, all, many thanks!.

My BFF and I will be going on Carnival Valor out of NOLA on Oct 3, with Cozumel on the 5th.

Short cruise, and we considered doing TULUM, but with the distance, and time in port, we have decided on a Beach experience, possibly with a bit of snorkeling, weather and water clarity permitting.

I really appreciate  the information on Nachi, Sanchos and Paradise.  We won't have any of our kids with us, and she is really looking forward to this, her first cruise.

I tried Sancho's (I think? 2012?)on my first cruise, and was not HUGELY Impressed.  My roommate on that cruise stayed in her beach chair while I rummaged about in the water (yeah, OLD heifers !!)  She was harassed by roaming souvenier, clothing, and even 🙄 PORN Drink Cup vendors.  Oh and Jewelry vendors, roaming up and down.

I am more interested in the idea of Paradise beach, since it sounds a little more sedate and private.  I will pitch that to her tomorrow.  I had told her about Sancho's and she is interested more in this type experience now.
Thanks again, to all, and stay tuned !  Sailing in 22 days 11 hrs, etc !
