Flatbush Flyer Posted August 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2019 Near the port: Intercontinental is the standard bearer. Absolutely terrific hotel and so convenient. Want something a little different- Art Deco? Try the Blue Moon in South Beach (Marriott autograph collection).

Nymich Posted August 23, 2019 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2019 (edited) Even though we live here in South Florida we spent a couple days on two occasions before cruises at the Fontainebleau. Historic place right on Miami Beach and a great way to prepare for a cruise! We did not run into Jackie Gleason or Frank Sinatra but we looked for them. Close to the Port as well. JPR Posted August 23, 2019 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2019 We liked the Hyatt Centric Brickell, which we booked using Hyatt point and which is about 200 yards from an excellent wine store...
LB_NJ Posted September 4, 2019 #8 Share Posted September 4, 2019 For a Miami departure we would stay on Miami Beach. Best off looking at the Florida board. This question has been asked many many times before.

Another vote for the Intercontinental where you can watch your Oceania ship arrive from their pool deck and casual restaurant. https://www.icmiamihotel.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=business_listing&trackingSource=GoogleBusiness
tv24 Posted September 4, 2019 #10 Share Posted September 4, 2019 Last time we stayed at the Eurostar Langford. It's downtown and in a fairly cool area of restaurants. Don't get a room on an upper floor as it would be too close to their club which has loud music. It's a converted bank building and the rooms are of interesting design. Wendy The Wanderer Posted September 4, 2019 #11 Share Posted September 4, 2019 We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami twice. It's a decent hotel, quite nice actually, reasonably-priced, and right across from the port. Lots of places to walk to, and a short cab ride to the ship. I tend to stay on points at either a Marriott property or Hilton. I'll give that one some thought for the next time I need a room there.

rheasue38 Posted January 7, 2020 #18 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Hi! Intercontinental is such a wonderful hotel. Two great restaurants in the area to walk to-Il Gabbiano and Wolfgang Steakhouse! They are around the corner from the Intercontinental! We will be staying there in Feb. and March. Rhea

Clutj Posted January 11, 2020 #23 Share Posted January 11, 2020 If you want to partake of walking the beach and other walking/shopping/people watching benefits of Miami Beach, we stayed at the Kimpton, which we found reasonably priced. It was a little worn down, art deco building, but still up to Kimpton standards. Jose Andres restaurant right next door was great.

Downtown is a mixed bag of good and bad.... with lots of bad...... Living in Chicago I am surprised you find Miami hotels expensive....last stay in Chicago in Feb it was hard to get a hotel under $400 a night. ATSEAMYLIFE Posted January 13, 2020 #25 Share Posted January 13, 2020 We flew in late from CA so didn't really want much outside of a clean close to MIA place to sleep. We did the Hilton Blue Lagoon and it was great. Did Uber from MIA to hotel $12 and Uber to port $27.
