fstuff1 Posted August 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2019 (edited) going solo with just a carry-on and backpack. debarking either Fri 12/13 or, if i extend the cruise, sun 12/22. since i only need to be at airport 1hr before flight because it's domestic (Washington DC/Dulles), is it possible to make 8:50am flight on United? next non-stop flight is @ 2pm 😞 Edited August 24, 2019 by fstuff1
fla gang Posted August 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2019 Me personally, that's too close to flight time!

baggal Posted August 24, 2019 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2019 Too many non-cruise passengers flying home for the holidays from FLL. The roads and terminals will be crowded. 8:50 is just too early.
Husky61 Posted August 24, 2019 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2019 I think it would be very close, but since I don't stress at all about missing a flight, I would try it, and if I missed it I would just relax in the airline lounge for the next flight or spend the night, have dinner and a drink and leave the next day.😃
rkacruiser Posted August 24, 2019 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2019 Such a tight schedule is not for me. Have a Plan B as a back-up. Why rush your disembarkation regardless of how "light" you are traveling? Opt for a later disembarkation time, if you can. You can stay up later the last night at sea, enjoy your rest without stress, arise at a reasonable time, and have a nice breakfast in the MDR before you disembark. Or do they just save a seat on the next flight since you are a VIP 🤔

BNBR Posted September 15, 2019 #11 Share Posted September 15, 2019 (edited) Possible? Yes. But that's a close one. Would want to line up around 5:30-6 and make sure to be first in line or close to it. If it goes smooth and on time , super possible. And you would also need a nonchalant attitude about the potential of missing the flight, like Husky. If everything goes smooth, you would probably end up at your gate with plenty of time to spare. But any delays and no way you make it. Edited September 15, 2019 by BNBR
FOPMan Posted September 15, 2019 #12 Share Posted September 15, 2019 The Friday choice is a bit better, in terms of airport traffic, but either one is too tight unless there is an acceptable alternative later flight.
fstuff1 Posted September 16, 2019 Author #13 Share Posted September 16, 2019 well, the point is moot. celebrity moved the port to Miami because of docking conflict at port everglades. :o (yes, causing much confusion and anger among passengers already booked with flights, hotels, transfers.)
