Colo Cruiser Posted September 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2019 A long-time Princess captain, who commanded Grand Princess, Captain Christie was based at the company's headquarters in Santa Clarita, California and was responsible for overseeing all of the maritime operations of the line's growing fleet. A 36-year P&O Princess Cruises veteran, Christie first took to the sea as a cadet with P&O in 1966. In 1975 he joined the original Pacific Princess, as a navigator and rose through the ranks aboard many of the vessels in the Princess fleet. In 1992 Christie earned his captain's stripes and took his first command aboard Island Princess. He has commanded many of the company's vessels, including leading Sea Princess at her inaugural in 1998.

The Mikado Posted September 4, 2019 #7 Share Posted September 4, 2019 May Our Heavenly Father welcome him home to his eternal rest. In the flying business, when a pilot passes away, we say he's "Gone West". May your sail westward be peaceful, Captain Christie. Thank you for your faithful service to your passengers and crew over the years. 1

You posted a very nice concise tribute. Edited September 5, 2019 by steelers36
