Rare VMax1700 Posted September 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2019 Here is the latest update of the Dry Dock, Charter and Groups file. Please consider this a 'work in progress' which will evolve from month to month. Westerdam is not showing a sailing between 4th January 2020 and 16th January 2020, so she may also be dry docking or maybe a charter. Eurodam is not showing a sailing between November 29, 2020 and December 9, 2020 so again this may be a charter or it may be a dry dock. The file consists of information gathered from the internet or information kindly posted on these threads by other cruisers and should not be considered a complete indicator of group activity. If you have information about groups charters or dry docks then please post here and I will update in the next file. Rare VMax1700 Posted September 5, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted September 5, 2019 Question asked last month........"I know its a ways out...but any information on why the 11 night January 27th, 2021 Nieuw Statendam cruise disappeared? I am assuming it is a charter but just curious as this was going to be a milestone birthday cruise. Thank you!" @WNcruiser I am sure you have noticed that the Nieuw Statendam is now chartered for the period January 31st 2021 to February 7th 2021 and they have added a 4 day cruise January 27th - January 31st to Bahamas and Key West. Rare Copper10-8 Posted September 15, 2019 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2019 Here are the 2020 dry-docks for HAL: 04-15 Jan 2020 - Westerdam - Singapore 07-20 Apr 2020 - Zaandam - Freeport 12-25 May 2020 - Amsterdam - Freeport 23 Nov - 06 Dec 2020 - Noordam - Singapore 29 Nov - 08 Dec 2020 - Eurodam - Freeport Yes, I know, the big mystery is Noordam scheduled to go to the Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore from 23 Nov through 06 Dec 2020 while she is scheduled this year to go to dry-dock from 29 Sep through 12 Oct at the Victoria Shipyard in Esquimalt, BC. I'm booked on the 9-night Hawaii to BC itinerary in May, as there is a substantial Mariner discount on that sailing presently. I even have some friends that are now interested in joining me. However, it's a multigenerational group. I would have no qualms about suggesting the ship post drydock, where I'm assuming they would have added Gallery Bar, Billboard Onboard and done the EXC/Explorations Cafe/Crow's Nest conversion? One more music venue might be a big deal for a 20-something. Plus the overall improved aesthetics. I hope we get clarity soon. The other big question with NODM is whether, as the only one of her four Vista-class sisters, she will keep her Explorations Cafe/full Library on Deck 3 fwd starboard side where it is now, post dry-dock. The alternative is to move it up to the Crow's Nest as EXC Central like Zuiderdam, Oosterdam and Westerdam which have the combo Digital workshop/Merabella/Screening Room where NODM's Explorations Cafe is now. Of course, NODM already has Merabella and the digital workshop elsewhere, but doesn't have a screening room which, btw, is no longer used as such on her bigger half-sister Nieuw Amsterdam. Oh, PLEASE!! Say it isn't so!!! We cancelled the Vancouver-Auckland cruise on her in 2018 because her drydock was postponed until this year and only rebooked this year because of the upcoming drydock before we board her in Vancouver on October 13th for 40 days. I will be BEYOND MAD if this winds up being cancelled at this late date, way past cancellation, and we're not in the cheap seats either! How can we find out for sure? I'm saying two long (two-week) dry-docks for the same ship in a little more over a year is highly unusual, unless done for emergency reasons which is not the case here with Noordie. Me thinks one of those two dry-docks will be cancelled and the first one is only two weeks away; Stay tuned Edited September 15, 2019 by Copper10-

Noordam is overdue, yes. Her last dry-dock was in Apr 2015 in Freeport; I was on her during that dry-dock. She already has been postponed once for a scheduled dry-dock in 2018 which was rescheduled for two weeks from now. If that one, in Equimalt, goes as scheduled, I would expect the one in Singapore next year to be cancelled and/or rescheduled for another vessel

That would solve the mystery surrounding the Westerdam for the 2 weeks in Singapore in January. Do you know what should be done? I hope they will handle everything because we are on the cruise from the 16th of January for 4 weeks on the ship. Do you have any experience if there are major problems on board after 2 weeks drydock if the workers can not handle the work? Of course, NODM already has Merabella and the digital workshop elsewhere, but doesn't have a screening room which, btw, is no longer used as such on her bigger half-sister Nieuw Amsterdam. The plot thickens! We need Clouseau and/or Colonel Mustard to figure this one out Hi Copper10-8, Any idea when the Rotterdam is going into drydock? We were told on our last cruise aboard her that she would be going in November 2020. Asking because we are booked on the November 17, 2020 cruise that ends in San Diego on December 19, 2020. However, HAL shows on the website that she sails from Ft. Lauderdale on December 20, 2020. Any idea what's going on? Thanks.

Her last was in 2017 so, I'm thinking, 2021
