Have had them for lunch and breakfast as well. Though as mentioned...not much to see once it is dark out there in the evenings. 😉 Yeah I agree that there wasn't much to see. The earlier the dining the more likely you are to see a little something. What I did like, as Bob mentioned, is that it seemed that the dining areas were a little quieter there than in the centre of the MDR area. We tend to get lucky to be seated in a corner in the back, near a window. Seems to be the quietest area for sure.

I understand that the window tables are coveted, so how would I best be sure to get one? We try for lunch and almost always get one.We never tried any other time. B-52 Posted October 14, 2019 #30 Share Posted October 14, 2019 As was previously stated...... We have MTD, but then have a standing reservation for two., same time each night, always first sitting time. We are some of the first people seated. (except when going to specialty restaurants or if shore hours run into the evening) We have always had a table for two at a window, same table, same servers. Jimbo Posted October 14, 2019 #32 Share Posted October 14, 2019 On Explorer of the Seas we always requested a 2 top under the stairwell leading to the second floor dining room. Loved the location, table was right against a beautiful tiled mural wall. Nice and quiet and good fast service, it was close to where they bering the food out so our meals were always hot. We requested through the conceirge who delt with the dining team, we did it a couple of times and never had a issue. We would later get an email from the conceirge confirming outr request. SherieW321 Posted October 22, 2019 #34 Share Posted October 22, 2019 We were on Indy at the end of April and we did MTD. It was just my husband and I but for 4 out of 5 nights, we were seated at a window during sunset. It was gorgeous. A different table each time, but always directly at the window or once was one table away from the window. The only problem was when other people would lean into our table to take a picture but it was beautiful so I don't blame them 😃 We just got lucky, I guess - but everyone was accommodating and if you are willing to wait, I'm sure they will find you whatever you want. Tatka Posted October 22, 2019 #35 Share Posted October 22, 2019 We also love tables for two by the window. My husband always asks for one. No! It's not necessary that it is dark or sun in your face. We cruise 5-6 times a year and it depends on the time of the year or when you arrive 😉 I do not think we were able to get tables for two on this class of RCI ships. On Voyager class we did have it once, but they are hard to get too.

It depends on what time of year you are sailing, which side of the ship your are seated on, and what direction the ship is heading. i'm crusing in Nov. Will be dark. dandtgeddes Posted October 23, 2019 #37 Share Posted October 23, 2019 The RCI ships are in Australian, New Zealand & South Pacific waters from mid spring, though summer and into the very start of autumn, so we usually have lovely daylight and sunsets around dinner time. Have seen various coastlines, ships, dolphins, whales, birds and some amazing sunsets while enjoying fabulous dining and service in the MTDs on Voyager and Oasis class ships. I often have my camera ready, just in case, not for the food porn 😋 Agree, by the window can, not guaranteed to, but can be quieter than more restaurant central tables.
