They could do that, just don't know if the market will fill both ships.  Was thinking about what happened to the NCL Joy, which started there but has since been repositioned with no replacement.  Seems Singapore would be a better base.

I too am surprised they have so much faith in China, there's probably higher demand in India given that not even one RCI ship is home-ported there. I think they just don't want to lose out on the competition of Global Dream entering the region in 2021/2022 also.

No she will be to wide and draw to deep

I'm not sure about that. Lots of conflicting info.

From 2010, the wetted surface cross sectional area of the ship is limited by 1006 m2, which means 20.1 metres (66 ft) of draft for ships with the beam no wider than 50.0 m (164.0 ft) or 12.2 metres (40 ft) of draft for ships with maximum allowed beam of 77.5 metres (254 ft).

Air draft is 223

Not conflicting at all.  Suez does not have a real "maximum" beam figure, they use tables of beam/draft combination that equal the wetted cross sectional area.  For Oasis class ships, with a 9.3m draft, they could be 108m wide (that would exceed the limits of the canal width, so that would be off the tables, but that is what is meant.  A shallow ship can be very wide, while a deep ship must be narrower.

Suez will take over 60 feet and Oasis class is around 30 feet.

The air draft is a question, as the Oasis class needs to retract the funnels for the Verrazzano Bridge in NYC, and the Suez Canal Bridge is very similar.

So, will it fit?

I was thinking the same thing. If the Joy couldn't make it in China, will the Wonder? Or will they end up bringing it back west? I can't tell if the failure of the Joy was an NCL problem or a market problem.

That design is so different, I can already hear the echoes of Quantum haters coming out of the wood work and swearing never to sail her.

A different design certainly isn't a bad thing TBH. As long as it isn't a terrible design like Quantum Class, Anthem had several issues for me.

Ironic from a western perspective to replace the basketball court with a smoking area but that’s probably what it is.

That area is where the second Flowrider is on other ships.

Biker, who's not sure all of the things in the current depiction will become reality.

I am surprised they are sending such an "open" ship to China. From what I heard and read potential cruisers are more interested in Casinos, shops, all types of innovative rooms than pools and suntanning.

yeah. Asian cruisers are very different.. I won't be surprised even if Wonder of the Seas has NO pool.  🙂

From the renderings it looks like the basketball court area could be a smoking area, and the terraced area is adjacent to the bar or eating area.

LOL, it will have a pool and probably lots of hot tubs too.

As is Oasis class has 4 pools (some smaller pool in Solarium) and gazillion jacuzzies. Right?
