BIGADORF Posted October 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2019 I received an email today from Princess for a Mexico Cruise that my wife and I are taking in January 2020. The subject matter was about a Visa. My wife and I are both American Citizens. Anybody know why we received this email? Why would we need a Visa? Is a just a coincidence that we recently signed up for Ocean Ready and downloaded our passports that that show they were issued from the United States? Aus Traveller Posted October 14, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2019 Maybe it's a routine email that is sent to all passengers. We get them for cruises where we definitely do not need a visa.
jennybenny Posted October 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 14, 2019 Everyone gets it. It's our responsibility to figure out if we need to get visas. They don't want to be responsible if you failed to get one when you need one. USA citizens do not need a visa for Mexico.

caribill Posted October 15, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 15, 2019 Are the only foreign ports you will be visiting in Mexico?

john_galt Posted October 15, 2019 #12 Share Posted October 15, 2019 Still, I called Princess Customer Service. They essentially said it was a CYA email (cover your a$$) sent automatically. She said it was generating a lot of calls.
Daniel A Posted October 15, 2019 #13 Share Posted October 15, 2019 According to Princess' Web Site : "Visa requirements for U.S. and Canadian citizens are listed on the guest's Travel Summary under "Notices," if applicable. All other nationalities, including those with U.S. or Canadian resident status, are responsible for verifying visa requirements for each port visited during the cruise."
