That sounds odd. http://phoenixclassicrockband.com/the-band/ They have a nice set list My plan is the same as last year. See all the std shows we can the first week, and go with the flow on week 2

Rare John&LaLa Posted October 25, 2019 Author #81 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Hopefully VISA sponsors more than just one event. Last year they did 4. I'm guessing they will provide the props, but I'm bringing my own anyway. Part of my suitcase full of crap.😉 For the Decades Party, Laura is doing 70's and I'm doing 80's. Think Disco Diva and Preppy Frat Boy. I'm all in for the Gold Party. I tried to get this for Laura😇 She said no. Or something similar😉 6

Rare xpcdoojk Posted October 25, 2019 #84 Share Posted October 25, 2019 I think I mentioned this sometime in the past year, we saw Hall and Oats at Keenan Stadium in Chapel Hill in about 1983. I remember the music, it was OK, the DW loved H&O. Donny Iris, the girl band that sang Vacation and somebody else, but what I remember from that summer concert, was when the people in the upper decks ran out of beer in their coolers they started dumping empty somewhat icy coolers onto the people below, which happened to be about 3 rows behind us. Ever since when I go into a venue I look up to make sure that we are not directly below the balcony. That is my Hall and Oats remembrance. Hopefully, yours won’t be similar. Rare Sea Dog Posted October 25, 2019 #88 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Sounds like a great cruise looking forward to following along as I haven't had a chance to catch up since our cruise and trying to do my "as if live" review.

He was the CD on our first ever Royal cruise - and we just loved him. I hope he's as fun as he was back then on Liberty. Looking forward to your review. We had Mike for several cruises. I believe the first one was on Serenade and then again on Liberty. Probably one of the best CD out there and I was sorry to see him leave (I believe left to become a police officer in Canada) and so glad he came back. Hopefully he has not lost his touch. Not sure how visible he will be on a Oasis-class ship. With so many things going on, he'll have to delegate a lot.
Norwich Cruiser Posted October 25, 2019 #92 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Not to turn this into a cruise director thread but we’ve sailed with Mike on two occasions and thought he was a superb. So pleased he’s back from being a Canadian Mountie and hope to cruise with him again sometime soon. I’ll certainly be following along.

They have since come down considerably.😉 Plan A I first tried to book through a group booking, but that was a bunch of BS. The TA was very sketchy, and I finally gave up. Plan B was enacted. Laura qualifies for a free annual cruise courtesy of Casino Royale. It's an inside cabin, but we're not picky. The downside is I had to wait until April to book it. Got lucky and found a great cabin available both weeks. So we paid for week 1 and Casino Royale paid for week 2. Hopefully, Laura doesn't give it all back in the Casino. I had a Plan C as well. We earned a free balcony cabin when we passed 1050 C&A points. We ended up using that for Harmony on my birthday this summer. Anyway, we got a great cabin on Deck 9. It's a CP view. Never had one, but it's similar to the Promenade View cabins on Freedom, so it should be fine. We are above CP150 and close to Dazzles, 9641. Not sure about the obstructed view symbol I'll tell you why being close to Dazzles is fortuitous in a minute😁🍷 John. Quiet!! LOL. Those CP and Boardwalk views (insides) are a closely guarded secret. See you tomorrow. Edited October 25, 2019 by rt1092

suesnake2002 Posted October 25, 2019 #100 Share Posted October 25, 2019 So excited to hear about the presidents/ birthday cruise next week. I really enjoyed insight to last years president cruise. Especially with all the free gifts. I too was shocked with the prices. So I opted for grandeur (in about 3 weeks) In which I turn diamond. Maybe when I turn diamond plus I will try a presidents cruise. I loved the gold dress you picked out for Laura. 😉
