Returning to Silversea after several years. Have they improved? We took 12 cruises on

Wind,Cloud,Whisper,Shadow, and Spirit but found too much cost cutting and change in culture.

So we left and have been sailing with other lines. Silversea has a good itinerary for us in Europe next

summer on the Whisper, and we have booked it. With new part-owners, we hope they have restored their former

good quality Thanks for any comment.

Rather than cost-cutting, I have been impressed by huge investments in the hard and soft products.  Yes, there are changes.  A couple I regret.  And Whisper has yet to receive the thorough transformation that Shadow, Spirit, Cloud, etc. have benefitted from.  But IMHO Silversea continues to offer a product of the highest quality at a reasonable price (esp. for a solo).  Perhaps you should wait for your experience rather than relying on others....  Welcome back! 🙂

We returned to Silversea last June after 10 years -we had been cruising with Seabourn following our first two cruises with SS.

I cannot express how much we enjoyed the excellent food and service- we felt it was superior to Seabourn and booked  another two week cruise - we leave tomorrow!

Book a journey and experience fabulous vacation!

Service as good as ever, food definitely improved over the last couple of years and anytime caviar is back.

I hadn't heard about anytime caviar being back. When did that start? Am very happy to hear this.

She's already undergone an extensive renovation in December 2018 prior to the 2019 World Cruise.

I'd describe that as a partial musification. Very partial.  I'd be interested to know when they plan to add to the restaurants etc and I can't recall seeing that information anywhere as yet.

I was not aware of any plans "to add to the restaurants."  In the Shadow re-do, La Dame will be larger if I recall correctly and there will be something like an Arts Cafe in the Deck 5 lobby.  I assume they may extend this to Whisper next year if it works out on Shadow.  But I think Whisper and Shadow will still have a main dining room and La T as for many years.

I think the Whisper looks great! Just completed the TA in October and she was lovely.

I had not heard that there were plans to add any new restaurants.

I would welcome an Arts cafe type of venue, but where would it be? Perhaps in the lobby area of the Whisper.

As Observer says, the Shadow is going to have an Atrium on deck 5, in the space of the lobby. The Arts Cafe concept will be in that area. See the below promo language for the Shadow:

"... new Atrium area on deck 5, a new social hub featuring an interactive guest reception area, boutiques and at its centerpiece, a Silver Muse inspired Arts Café".

I would assume if feedback is positive re: Shadow's major refurbishment, then yes, the Arts Café would go into a new atrium on deck 5 where the current lobby is located.

Sorry if the language was imprecise. That is what I was referring to a la Shadow.

No, I believe it will be in the space currently occupied by the casino.
