Remember that the initial name for the company itself has been amended, so the best laid plans for the new build name are not as written in stone as anyone might imagine...even if the powers that be believe that it is "in the bag". Flatbush Flyer Posted November 23, 2019 #36 Share Posted November 23, 2019 With apologies to loyal readers of the sailing rag, Latitude 38: Dedicate the first of the two new ships to primarily US West Coast departures and call it Baja Ha Ha. Kate-AHF Posted November 23, 2019 #38 Share Posted November 23, 2019 Why would you plaster the internet with press announcements last January for the new "Allura Class" and not name the first new ship Allura?

Benita Posted November 24, 2019 #47 Share Posted November 24, 2019 In honor of Oceania outrunning the pirates near Somalia, I chose the name Oceania Flotilla. By the way, I won third prize about 10 years ago in the Design the Oceania itinerary contest. Won two weeks in a PH suite for two on the Marina, including airfare. Hoping this name is not too warlike and I will win again!

Maybe if it just stays away from iceberg territory? LOL 😀
bob brown Posted November 28, 2019 #50 Share Posted November 28, 2019 The “random drawing from all entries”, would mean this whole contest is what it really is... as has been said, a publicity ploy... but really, like most contests and giveaways on the internet, a marketing ploy to get your email address ( if they didn’t already have it). The right way to do it, would be for them to choose a good name from all entries, and only do a random drawing from those submitting the same name.
