How would you rate the Infinity?

Hello folks....we received a free cruise on the Infinity. Although it is "free" we are reluctant to book.  2 years ago we sailed the Infinity and the service, food & offerings were way BELOW the Celebrity standards.  There were obvious issues.  Just checking to see if anyone has sailed her lately and have you been satisfied with your cruise.  Thank you

I was on Infinity in March 2019 and found it to be up to the standards of the other ships.   The staff was very efficient and friendly and the food throughout the ship was very good.

She has not yet gone through the Revolution so you will have the per-revolution furnishings and amenities.

I would have no qualms of booking another cruise on her.

Just did a Panama Canal transit last month on the Infinity.  As an older ship it did show some wear, however, the food was very good and the service was excellent.

We were on infinity for back to back 4 and 5 day cruises also in match 2019 , we had a suite for each so we did not do mdr. Ship was a little run down, saw someone try to open a door and handle fell off. But in general it was fine we did buffet a couple of times and food was really good, we are back on infinity in less than two months on another music charter .

Just did a Thanksgiving cruise on her and have no complaints. Ship was very clean and crew was excellent. We were in a Sky Suite so we didn't do main dining room but food was very good at buffet when we went for lunch. Our room was in excellent condition . I would go back in a heartbeat.

On her right now. The ship decor could use some TLC but the staff is excellent. The Captain really cares about his passengers and it shows. The food has been very good, but we are in the royal suite so have only done luminae, oceanview, specialty dining, and morning detox smoothies from spa cafe.

We've had a couple of days of rough weather and the crew and staff have been going the extra mile trying to compensate for it. The cruise director has really been on top of things and rescheduled activities and venues to better suit the conditions.

I also did a 15 night Panama Canal cruise and loved it.  First of all the crew were all fabulous!  The Captain is very friendly too.The ship was kept clean, the food was very good and they had a variety of entertainment each night.  The decor is a little old school but that did not bother me.  I paid a lot for that cruise and really enjoyed myself and would not hesitate to take a free cruise on that ship!

Was on the Infinity in March.  A couple areas where the ship is showing it's age but overall and excellent ship with a good crew and solid service.  Would sail her tomorrow if work wasn't getting in the way.

Since you sailed Infinity recently (2 years before) it likely has not changed much.  Infinity is an older ship but Celebrity keeps their ships well maintained and the crew is generally very good.  So it is not below the Celebrity standards as you state.  But probably below your own standards whatever they are as everybody is different.  What do you have to lose or risk taking a free cruise?

The infinity shows her age a little bit. We just got off the Infinity  at the end of November. Overall it was a great cruise. Absolutely no complaints.

Did a B2B a year ago, and another cruise on her a year before that.  Yes, a little wear and tear but we had a great time on these cruises.  She's one of my favorite Celebrity ships (and I've sailed all except Edge class)

I am honestly amazed beyond belief that someone would think Infinity so below par that they would not even sail her on a free cruise!!  If you're talking a 1 or 2 day cruise that involved airfare, ok I get that.....maybe.  Anything else is truly beyond my comprehension.

I agree, sounds more like something a CC troll would post. I would accept a free cruise on a Rust Bucket Ship just to enjoy the cruise knowing it was free. Actually my first cruise in the 1990's was on a true Rust Bucket casino ship out of Galveston Texas. Every 30 days this ship had to make a 5 day cruise to Cozumel to keep her foreign registry. We won the trip on one of her nightly casino cruises and as bad as this ship and food was, we were hooked on cruising.

The Infinity is going in for total dry dock in October 2020

Yeah...I am convinced the folks at Celebrity monitor MY bookings...then schedule the major rehabs for lust afterwards.  😁

We were on the VERY LAST voyage of the Millennium before they pulled her into drydock for the "Revolution"...and we are on back to back cruises on Infinity this coming July...

Of course, sometimes they decide to do work on the ship WHILE we are cruising.  On our British Isles cruise on Reflection this past July, they sent a crew on board to do some major construction--IMMEDIATELY below our cabin...at one point, it got so bad--and started at 6:00 am--that I complained...and, luckily, they were able to move us to another cabin.

I guess I'm going to have to start booking my cruises last minute...or under an assumed name!

That beside the point, we have booked our cruises on Infinity despite the rehab schedule...and we are expecting to have a very nice cruise...Of course, if I see anyone boarding with power saws and jack hammers, I may freak out.

I enjoyed my Infinity cruise earlier this year in February. My experience with the restaurant service was great and bar service was good. I think I skipped most the stage entertainment in favour of lounging around near live music, so I don't have much feedback on that. With the crew's TLC, the ship herself is holding up extremely well for her age, but you do notice it — especially if the Edge pulls right up next to her. If your free cruise is a shorter Caribbean one, I'm sure it'll be a great fun with the more livelier/energetic crowd.
