Korbiesmom Posted December 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2019 I’m going on the Carnival Panorama in three weeks and I want to make sure I get a decent cup of coffee. I haven’t been on Carnival in years but was very disappointed in the regular coffee served on the Princess Cruise I took to Alaska last year. There was no half and half for the coffee served anywhere, it was only milk. Every time we asked for half and half we were brought full cream. It was disgusting and made the coffee greasy. Question, does Carnival serve real half and half with their coffee? Otherwise I’ll have to bring my own creamer.
cb at sea Posted December 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2019 I've yet to be on a ship without half and half....Perhaps they ran out. You can alway mix 1/2 milk with 1/2 cream...that is, after all, what 1/2 &1/2 is!
Cruise-Crazy Posted December 29, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2019 I’ve never asked for it. If you have milk and cream making half and half is rather simple. Half and half is just milk and cream.
Elaine5715 Posted December 29, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2019 Only the coffee shop has good coffee. The Lido stuff is just barely drinkable

Shaded Lady Posted December 29, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2019 Wow- my last cruise I asked many times for full cream, not half & half, and I couldn't get it! I'm on a keto diet and I'm not supposed to have milk, half & half or dairy creamer- only full cream, so I ended up drinking my coffee black! Even the coffee shop only had half & half. Where did you manage to get full cream? MDR? Lido?
sandy toes Posted December 29, 2019 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2019 Ask for it. I have often found none in the Lido but when I asked it was pulled out of a under cabinet refrig. And of course, you can always mix your own with part cream and part milk. Use a glass to mix and then add to your coffee cup. ENJOY.

If having your half and half will make questionable tasting coffee more palatable, then I would bring my own. Just in case. hope this helps
Rare SRQbeachgirl Posted December 29, 2019 #9 Share Posted December 29, 2019 I've found that adding a little soft serve to the Lido coffee makes it much more drinkable. Still not great, but a vast improvement.

I get a water glass and fill it up with soft serve and then add a little coffee on top for a mocha shake. Bon Appetit!
Rare Banditswife Posted December 30, 2019 #11 Share Posted December 30, 2019 on our most recent cruise (Nov 2 -16,2019) 1/2 & 1/2 was available as well as milk. I have never seen full cream, but never asked for it either.

You want a decent cup of coffee, but then you're going to ruin it by putting cream in it?! 😛
Gallivanting Souls Posted January 8, 2020 #14 Share Posted January 8, 2020 You're bringing powder creamer then? I can't imagine that they allow a bottle of half and half?

Low fat and non-fat milk, I get because of added sugars. But some of this eat this not that stuff coming out of fad diets is ridiculous.

I'm not defending my diet because it's working for me- I've lost 65 lbs and still going... The key to it though, @crewsweeper since you asked so nicely, is that I should technically not have any dairy in my coffee, but if I'm going to (which I NEED to) it has to be full cream, in order to get the necessary fat in my diet to help me get into ketosis, without the additional carbs. Otherwise, it's black coffee with no sugar.

After day 1 I always brought extra in my pocket To lido and when approached I shared. I like to think I made a different person’s morning for 6 days straight. Good karma.

funtoocruise Posted February 25, 2020 #22 Share Posted February 25, 2020 I found the last couple of years there is no such thing as a " good cup of coffee" unless you pay for one in the cafe. Since they switched I find the coffee is terrible.
wms99 Posted February 25, 2020 #23 Share Posted February 25, 2020 I have found half and half at every Lido on every ship we've been on. Sitting on the aft area of Lido, cup of coffee in hand, watching the sun come up, makes me not really care how good or bad the coffee might be. All is right in my world at that moment. cruizergal70 Posted February 25, 2020 #24 Share Posted February 25, 2020 (edited) I just want to defend the free Lido coffee. I like it. It's a basic cup of coffee. I doubt the coffee shop coffee is much better. It all comes down to perception. Edited February 25, 2020 by cruizergal70
