cme2c Posted March 17, 2020 #14 Share Posted March 17, 2020 So, what are the ships going to do while stuck at a dock or at anchor? Will they be shut down completely? Will there be minimal crew and power to keep systems going? If so, will they be forced to use "clean" fuel? Having particulate generators at White Bay, the OPT and Athol Buoy would not be too pleasant!
The_Big_M Posted March 17, 2020 #15 Share Posted March 17, 2020 They're unlikely to be berthed at regular passenger terminals, but will go to some (cheaper) longer term storage location. They can't be shut down completely as they're only predicting to be out of service 1 month +, and need to be kept maintained and running to be rapidly brought back to service, and also need periodic movement for water generation. Shut down and restart itself would take time. Power use would be reduced though, as they would close off areas of the ship.

bl262000 Posted March 17, 2020 #18 Share Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) Artania may have moved after receiving a noise complaint and official warning when it was at White bay on Saturday. Info for all (most will prob know) but here is a page of vessel movements in Sydney Harbour, that is being kept up to date unlike the cruise schedule page which is too far "out of whack": https://www.portauthoritynsw.com.au/sydney-harbour/daily-vessel-movements/ Edited March 17, 2020 by bl262000
