I have been trying to decide what to wear to my cousin's funeral this afternoon.  She left instructions that everyone has to wear colourful clothes because she always like bright colours.  She knew that I would have a problem because she always teased me about my "boring clothes".  She has asked that I and another cousin speak at the funeral, after 68 years there are so many memories and her husband has asked that we try to include some of the funnier moments that we shared.

Hope all goes as well this afternoon Josy.

At my dads funeral a few years ago we all wore “a splash of colour”. It was lovely

I can honestly say that it was the nicest funeral that I have ever been to.  Most people wore bright clothes as requested so it was quite a colourful afternoon.  It was not in anyway religious which was what she wanted.  Her husband, her daughter and I all spoke of our memories of her.  It has made me think that I might like to have a similar funeral.

I was disappointed that the other cousin who had been asked to speak had refused because she didn't think that it was correct to have a non-religious funeral.

Surely the wishes of the departed are paramount ?

The other cousin seems to lack Christian understanding.

I’m feeling quite emotional watching the news today.

I have been unwell with the lurgy so am in a room on my own with only the tv for company.
Got to hope I am clear by Sunday or my family will be going to Disneyland Paris without me, not great timing 🙄

Very much so. I thought she was a wonderful woman, one of a kind.

Although I am not particularly a royalist, it is a terribly sad day and the end of an era. Like most people, I have never known a time when Elizabeth was not the Queen. Now she is gone from all of our lives.

Her Majesty came to the throne 6 months before I was born, so she has been a constant in my life, it will be very strange that she is no longer with us.

Rest in Peace.

Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"
I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.
I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.
Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.
I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.
I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.
Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.
