Rare P&O SUE Posted April 9, 2023 #44701 Share Posted April 9, 2023 Afternoon all, hope you are enjoying your Easter Sunday. Quiet one for us as John is sorting out the shed! So I’m just pottering about. The sun is out now after a misty start. Weather tipped to go downhill after today.

Michelle Hi it is called the Grand Hotel de la Ville . About a 5 to 10 min walk from the centre. Not sure what it is like in August but may be checking out some time. It is excellent

Very sunny here overlooking the sea as well. We have been looking at the Facebook page and thinking of Wales. Looks like good weather for everyone. Been to Pompeii today and had a great time until they decided to cancel most trains so no trains from about 1pm until 4.35pm. To say we played squash on the way back to Sorrento is an understatement.. but an experience. !!!

We stayed at La Badia which is about 2km outside of the centre and at Hotel Capodimonte nearer the centre both had fabulous views Michelle Apparently this is the sister hotel of the Capadimonte... they've really kept it modernised though so bet the others are the same. This one is the other side of town. Wld recommend it to anyone and everyone
Snow Hill Posted April 10, 2023 #44705 Share Posted April 10, 2023 (edited) Typical Bank Holiday Monday weather here today, pouring with rain with strong winds forecast for this afternoon. A day for searching for a cottage in France for 2 weeks in September, possibly in Bordeaux area or further south. It’s been 4 years since we last went, we used to go to France annually. kalos Posted April 10, 2023 #44706 Share Posted April 10, 2023 Morning all, dry and 10.c and overcast at the moment . We have got a little Yorkie that's cute but sadly need to rehome him as no matter what we do he keeps barking all the time . He goes by the name of Rex and is about 8 month old ,so if you think you could give him a home, let me know and I'll jump over the neighbours fence and grab him for you .😉 Just fancied something light to eat this morning so I settled for egg on toast . Hope you all have a good day -Take care 🙂 2

Not to mention the gelati of course! Must admit it has given us a taste for land holidays. Azamara was in the other day and we didn't envy them at all ... it is great to stay here and soak up the atmosphere and stay a while.

Paid twice that much yesterday for a cone with one scoop. I have to say it was nice though, as I expect the ones in the picture are.
Rare Presto2 Posted April 10, 2023 #44712 Share Posted April 10, 2023 (edited) Mr Presto hit the ice cream today ... absolutely packed in Sorrento as it is a Bank Holiday. Not being sarcastic when I say that I have never seen so many Italians in one place at one time. Normally when holidaying your see more tourists than locals. Today was like the whole of Naples descended to have a fab day out. Good for them to be honest and it made for a great atmosphere. They even has Punch and Judy Napoli style !! Rare Sarah1974 Posted April 11, 2023 #44717 Share Posted April 11, 2023 Good morning all, hope you had a lovely Easter weekend. can anyone please advise me (sorry I know this will have been asked somewhere before) - is it better to book a cruise with an online cruise travel agent (I understand recommendations for specific companies cannot be given), or a high street travel agent (not cruise specialist) or direct with the cruise line? What are the benefits given by who you book with E.g. OBC? I’m looking to book a P&O cruise at saver rate. thanks for any replies Sarah

No High Street branches but an excellent reputation and you may be able to negotiate a small additional discount with them. You need to sign up with them first (no charge or commitment). Not able to name names or give clues I’m afraid.

For Select fares where you can choose your cabin a specialist should be able to give you a lot more cabin/ship information etc than a high street TA. 2
kalos Posted April 11, 2023 #44720 Share Posted April 11, 2023 Morning all a very bright clear sunny 7.c here but rain this afternoon is tipped . We got plenty of rain with the thunderstorms yesterday . Those pictures of the Punch & Judy stands take me back a few years to all the fun of the fair that used to come and visit us . 2

indiana123 Posted April 11, 2023 #44724 Share Posted April 11, 2023 Who's a scaredy cat today then!! ME!! Have to go to London for an upright MRI. I don't know how I am going to react to it. It could take 2 hrs. Snce the heart attack (10 yrs now) I cannot bear anything near my face. It has been known before apparently, so an ordinary MRI is a no no for me. Just have to spend the children's inheritance. We are throwing the book at why my legs suddenly won't move, and the groin agony, and have finally found one thing on ct, today is to check everything else. Hanging on the phone to check they know about the metal ankle before we travel. I am scared or being confined in the machine, but I'll have a glass of something nice beforehand. There is always an upside... a lovely long lunch in London first and a lovely son in law who loves driving in London and will take us anywhere and a lovely daughter who may say it's not worth going to London without the theatre 🤣😍😼
