Do you have any shops that you miss ? Littlewoods. The older store in the 60's where you could buy fresh meat, bacon, cheeses and various cooked sliced meats, ham etc. Barnsley had a great store that was always busy. No mention of Brixton Market or Borough Market - before they went posh! I was living in one of the best and most expensive roads in Clapham, just off the Common - before that went posh too. £4.50 a week for a bedsit, complete with built in mice. £5m now, that house - maybe £50,000 in 1970, scruffy and split into at least a dozen bedsits. Branches of John Lewis in nearby Streatham and Brixton (Pratts and Bon Marché) were the places we used to dream about one day owning furniture. I bet we both ended up on King’s Road Chelsea from time to time though. 😉 Don't worry Harry. There is a branch in Barcelona. Along with other high end designer shops.🤣

We buy the odd items in there, but we always take our Viking cruises bag so that folk don't know we purchased anything. Next time we go to a cruise show we will blag a Cunard bag. We take Celebrity bags on P&O, just for a laugh. Edited December 16, 2023 by zap99 2

Got free tickets from a TA. We acquired a good number of bags, including P&O. Got bags on free visits. Spend £4,000 on a cruise...no bag. Perhaps we should boycott them until they give punters a bag. Celebrity give us bags. We have got a Hurtygrooten bag. Disgusting treatment of customers. lincslady Posted December 17, 2023 #53418 Share Posted December 17, 2023 It is true the best dancer did not win Strictly, but the fair minded British public did not approve of a professional dancer being in the contest.

Last year on Princess our cabin steward gave us a Princess bag which surprised me because we hadn't had them for a while. We were always taken to see Santa in Lewis's as children and loved the walk through the grotto. We used to take my niece's children to see Santa at Bridgemere when they were small but when DH and I took my god-daughter's son there last year we were very disappointed it was more grotty than grotto.

I think that children are missing out on so much these days, not allowed to sit on Santa's knee anymore, no lovely grotto and do they get any present when visiting him? It used to take weeks to build the grotto in Lewis's (I worked there as well) the window displays, everything was so different and innocent then, how times have changed and not for the best.

You could buy a present from Santa at Bridgemere and they do a "Breakfast with Santa" but we didn't partake so I don't know what it was like.
