Good Morning Everyone and Happy Sunday.

I don't know about you guys but I've found some of the recent threads quite unpleasant at times. I know I'm a bit flaky sometimes but I don't like unnecessarily combative posts. This is the only social media platform I'm on so I expect it happens all the time. I was thinking maybe I'd duck out for a few weeks until I read dear Josy's post about the sad loss of her friend - and saw how quickly everyone responded to her sadness - and realised that this is real life, real concern, real support - and the idiots can stick their nasty comments where the sun don't shine.

Have a lovely day. Jane xxx

I get where you are coming from Jane, I too get frustrated with the odd poster who only seem to be here for a fight, so have to distance myself for a while.

But, sometimes, you have to push back and then you realise they don't engage with you, just picking the easy fights...

Members like you keep a lot of us going, this is a fantastic virtual family, but every family has its 'weird uncle'... 😂😂😂

Keep on keeping us going Jane,

Andy & Michelle xx

I haven't posted a lot on here recently, as I am feeling less than sociable (after my recent diagnosis) but would be sad to see you go as you have always been supportive to everyone on here and have become a valuable member of our virtual family.

Morning Jane.

This thread alone is worth staying on cc for and you are loved by us all.

The friendliest thread on cc is where I post Father Davids sermons and they will love you if you post on there.

Sandi normally starts today's daily at 10am ( 5am US time) and I will post the sermon before church starts at 10.15am.

I have never sailed on Holland America line but their welcome to me for 2 years has been amazing and where I do most of my daily posts.

Graham xx

Thank you so much Pam for your very kind words. No I'm definitely not going anywhere. As I said, I think I was just in a mood!

I was never leaving - just maybe having a time out as @AndyMichelle mentioned in his post, and does, from time to time.

Anyway, never mind me. I'm concerned, but understand why, you're not feeling at your best at the moment. Promise you'll still read even if you don't post - until you feel a bit more sociable again. You might find that some of @kalos's jokes cheer you up, or pictures of @brian1's poorly foot inspire you not to wear new trainers for a long run - I'm going to suggest to Brian that he uses the worst of his blister photos as Christmas cards to send to people he doesn't like - "Happy Yughtide".

Lots of virtual hugs coming your way Pam. Very best wishes. Jane xxxxx

Thanks as always Graham. I thought you were, or had been, a regular HA Line cruiser so I'm really surprised to read that you're not. I do read a lot of the posts on there and now always listen to Fr. Damian's sermons. I will post - just to say hello maybe. You and Pauline have a happy day. Jane xx

I'd love to wish West Ham well for today Brian - but obviously I can't. We really need a win today as City have ominously shortened our lead. So, I'll just wish you.....a good loss? Sorry Brian. Jane xx

We had a very pleasant problem free drive home from Southampton this morning but as S** "s law states that cannot last.  I had a message on the answer machine asking me to call my friend's daughter which I did immediately because I knew that there was something amiss, the daughter never rings, sadly my friend has passed away while we were away.  I celebrated a big birthday while on holiday and the news of my friend's passing reminded me that we are all getting older.  My DH said he can't imagine my life without my regular lunches and coffees with my friend, as he said we have been together for over 50 years and she was my friend for 15 years before that.

I'm so sorry for your loss Josy.x

I think you will find we need the win a bit more than you!!!

I am going today,  I need some justification for £18 parking a 25 minute walk from the ground...

As A Stoke City fan, many  of us would probably hope you both lose. Mind you, the Premier League holds less interest for us at the moment. Maybe the best team on the day should win.

We are trying to do things each month we've never done before. A monthly bucket list so to speak. Last month it was watching a Shakespeare Play at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.  Plus we went canoeing down our nearby canal last week. Both fantastic first time experiences for us.

Well the fact we are staying on The Torridon Hotel and driving on the NC500 in the Scottish Highlands later today was on our bucket list to start with

Another one was to try open water swimming!

And at 7.30am this morning as solitary swimmers in the magnificent Loch Torridon we ticked that of our list!

What a start to the day!!

Followed by a fantastic Scottish Breakfast

That's not good enough for us Pete, we will take any kind of win...

I really don't want to come to Stoke next year... 😒

I am probably feeling unsociable as I am in limbo, and do not know which way forward. I am still waiting to hear from the oncologist as we are due to sail on Arvia in four weeks, or do I need to cancel?

@Beckett

Good morning Jane.

I was a little worried when I read your earlier post, and relieved when I saw the rest of them. I'm glad you reconsidered. I know some of the posters on other threads can be a little......erm, shall we say truculent? Try reading between the lines Jane, or referring back to their earlier posts and see how they change their ideas to suit their agenda. It's fun😉 Or as others have said, use the block button.

A while ago we had an episode with a nasty new poster who had taken a particular dislike to me. no idea why. Loved Graham though☺️

I logged in late one morning and I don't know what she had been saying about me, as no-one wanted to upset me, but my friends had all reported her posts and had them taken down, and blocked from the CC forum That's the wonderful caring community we have on here and the odd one or two are easily ignored, or blocked.

Stay with us Jane, it won't be the same without you.x

Yesterday we arrived at the hotel and had a superb meal in the restaurant. Which is over 160 years old!!

They have an amazing kitchen garden here plus their own Highland cattle for beef. Pigs arriving next week.

60 per cent of the food on their menu comes direct from their estate

We finished with a Scottish Chessboard with Port and had paired wine with each course

Not even on the cold, wet, windy,Tuesday nights we seem to specialise in. No doubt you will want our player on loan from Southampton back as well.

Are you able to phone the oncologist or talk to your GP about travel advice for your upcoming cruise? They may be able to give you some guidance on what to do and help you come to the best decision for you.

Pam, don't cancel yet. In your shoes I would either get in touch with your GP practice, speak to the PM and ask them to chase on your behalf or, if you know the name of the hospital you're being referred to, phone the hospital and ask to be put through to oncology for an update and tell them your dilemma re travelling. You really should have heard by now and regardless of strikes etc I believe the 2-week wait is still in place. Jane xx

Glad to see your having a great time up in Bonny Scotland .

Last time we was up there ,coming home we followed the west coast on our way home,

so I could show the Mrs  the "Electric Brae,  on the A719, Maybole (KA19 8JR)

Nice to stop on a steep hill and let your car roll back up the hill.

One of natures very own optical illusions 🙂

Thanks so much Avril. I seem to remember someone being less than nice to you a while back. Now, in my book anyone who takes a dislike to you is either mad, bad, a troll, or a thoroughly nasty, viscous piece of work who deserves to be removed for good. How lovely that this (our) community acted so swiftly to get it shut down. I wasn't really aware of the report option until today but I certainly am now.

The other night, on Dragon's Den, one of the panel referred to an ' influencer'. The slightly older guy who was pitching said "In my day an influencer was someone you sent round to the house of the the person who stole your telly to get it back". Any more trouble Avril ....I'll be your influencer! Jane xxx
