Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Friends of ours have also been on the Breakaway and also felt the same way.  I feel it was a weird set-up.  I also hated that the entire casino floor stunk so badly of cigarette smoke.  I would go up a deck just to avoid the smokiness.😫

The Breakaway was without a doubt our worst cruise. No doubt influenced by it being the bomb cyclone Grayson cruise!

@Ocean Boy While on the cruise did you shoot any pics in 108mp mode and then try to post it?  When I took pics of the Iris I tried it.  I tried to post it here and it loaded as an all black pic.  It wasn’t because of the size because I reduced the size down to about the size of the other pics.

Where is the 108 MP setting found?

Well, if you watched the series, you know there were gratuitous sex scenes in just about every episode (at least for the first two seasons).  So many nights, I will play it on my iPad and watch it while in the hot tub.

I do recall @Luckynana((Maryann) warning me about sound carrying, when I was talking about getting my gazebo erected over my hot tub.  One night, I had the show on, and the volume turned up to hear over the jets running, and one of those scenes with all the sound effects came on.  That is when Susan came out and asked “what are you watching?”, because she (with her bat like hearing), could hear it upstairs, in the house, with the windows closed.   Now I have to remember to turn it down during certain scenes.

Speaking of the gazebo, my “some assembly required” boxes took me a couple days last weekend to assemble.

I really like the hot tub under cover, because it gives us more time to use it.  We don’t have to rush to get out of the rain if that starts.   This is the finished project, but I plan to add some LED light strips inside.

Like the gazebo , but not sure my wife would go for it. She wants to see the stars overhead while in our hot tub.

Was it this thread where we were talking about Alaska shore excursions?

I found these photos from when we were in Ketchikan last. Here’s the Aleutian Ballad, which does the crab excursion, sailing past our cabin.

I guess that is the same ship we did the same excursion on but hard to tell from your pictures because it's the other side of the ship that has the stadium seating  on the side of the ship that does the show on.

Open the camera as if you are about to shoot.  At the top you see different settings.   One is the pic dimensions.   I usually have mine set to [9:16].  What ever yours is set on click on it to see options.

Screenshot_20220501-191649_Camera.thumb.jpg.44d822b5322711248cea6460bbd5737b.jpg

When it opens you should see the [3:4】 option with 108mp under it. Click it and it should be set.  It should show like the first pic but with the 108 set showing.

I only get an option for 50 MP. Do you have the "Ultra" phone? That could be why I don't find it. Why do you choose 9:16 over 3:4?

The Breakaway was my least favorite ship and cruise out of all our trips.  I did not enjoy it and my casino drinks were free!!!!

We were on the Breakaway once because of the itinerary. The TA that we were using at the time offered great perks .We have friends that we cruise with a lot .They almost always cruise on NCL and we did the Breakaway with them.

Yes, 2021 ultra.  I thought I read that the 2022 had 108 but maybe I was looking at 2022 ultra.  I also thought you mentioned 108mp before the cruise.  Mine does not have 50 mp.  See if you can post a 50mp on CC.

Choosing 9:16 is just a preference thing.  I don't thing it changes quality.   I shot most of my pics and almost all video horizontal.   When I view it on the TV it fills the whole screen.  Also I think it's because I shot a lot with a DSLR in my years so taking horizontal is more natural to me.

😆 Yes.  It's been a long time since I had one.  Used to eat them a lot.  Had a steak and cheese.  It was OK but not worth $10.  We don't think a repeat will be soon.

DW is turning the Strawberries into a pie!

BTW, did you notice we got a foot in the picture too.  Seems to be a thing.   😆

We had three cruises that tied for Worst Cruise, all for different reasons:

A Cunard ship when every passenger and every crew member including the ships doctor became sick with the same ailment.

A Carnival ship because there was not anything good about it.

A HAL ship because the people in the cabin above us forgot to shut their bathroom water and water came through the ceiling while we were sleeping and it was a mess.

We have had heavy rain all morning, so that delayed our daily walk.  So with the rain, we just finished watching the final episode of Ozark.   Yes, it is streaming now.

That was an unexpected ending!   I know some here watch it, so no spoiler.😁

Eric watched the final episode last night when he was watching TV in the middle of the night.  He said the same, unexpected ending.

Mums the word please.   I have to watch  a couple episodes

So here is the same Kraken bottle I posted earlier (though there is less liquid in it) in 50 MP. I think the colors look more natural. There may be less light in the room since the sun went down

I think the colors is high quantity. Looks real good.  I wonder why that post and mine didn't.   Might be that I downsized mine.

So yesterday my daughter Christina and her husband Brandon were supposed to spend the day at his parents house celebrating his nephews first birthday. Well they were worried about us and did not know if we could handle 8 paws for 4 days while they went to a conference in Kansas.
So they surprised us arriving last night.
They wanted to make sure we would not be upset dog sitting so close to our loss of Carrie.  I said no it’s just what we need to keep our minds busy. And if it did bother us Brandon s parents would watch them.

So here are Christina and Brandon at Jed’s first birthday. E5D15F35-695E-489C-8A1C-26F215D9452C.thumb.jpeg.ebcae6d00a2ac6dc4da177d1a35c7953.jpeg

Then Christina goes we would never surprise you with a kitten. But if you need help rescuing one I’ll help.  But we wanted to get you something to take your mind away from Carrie. So we got you a small gift. D84A16BE-1D6F-468E-8762-4B394CB6540C.thumb.jpeg.e47bf7818bef8b6915529e9bd31a7d3d.jpeg

God truly works in mysterious ways. She just found out she is pregnant and due in December.

Happy tears in Ohio

What a beautiful way to break the special news. Congrats to everyone.

I must admit, I did tear up a bit.

We’ll be wrapping up Ozark the next couple of nights.  Agree with your assessment about how much more can they do.  We tried The Americans but couldn’t get into it. Is it one of those shows you have to give some time?
Next up for us is Big Love on HBO. It’s also a few years old.

I enjoyed Big Love but totally forget how the series ended.

But then I thought it may give us some protection if one of those large branches come down.  Plus, it will keep a lot of leaves and debris out.

One of the drawbacks of a heavily wooded lot.

This is the first cruise that I've had end on a Saturday instead of a Sunday in a very long time. It has been so nice not having to go back to work the day after returning home. It is hard to make this happen with 8 day cruises. It is time to start looking for the next one.

See what you mean, might want to consider having someone come in and trim some of those branches off the hot tub side of that tree. Hard to imagine until those branches fall just how large they are until, they are on the ground. Could do a number on that gazebo.

We got ours about 30 miles south of here on our way to our DD house.  Luckily there is a lady close to use who grows near there but brings orders back here.

Here is the pie.  We will put whip cream on it after it chills awhile.

@Ocean Boy 1st pic 9:16. 2nd 3:4 108mp.  CC must have a limit on size.  It would not let me load the original or at 80%.  After reducing to 60% it loaded.

How about this amazing guy celebrating his 100th birthday by running the 100 meter in Penn relays.   And Married for 80 yrs!

This is where Eric went to college, rowed for several years as a student and as an alumni for Penn and had his transplant surgery at Penn.  Eric had a room in the athletic building where he lived as a student for 1 yr.  I have walked this track many times while Eric was in the Hospital but I am now ashamed to say I have not run it.  Very impressed with this gentlemen.

Not to mention the stray meteorites…… or at the very least, the occasional bird poop. LOL 😂
