Suzcruz57 Posted April 8, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2020 Sooooo strange. Soooooo sad😔. Anybody else receive their tags on a cancelled cruise.
RaynJeffnOhio Posted April 8, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2020 Yes. Must have been a system glitch. We received a second set of tags 2 weeks ago, for what was to have been our Apex April 5th cruise. 😒
yorky Posted April 8, 2020 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2020 I thought it was for the 4th December when I saw the title, keep forgetting you write dates differently to the way we do in the UK.
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted April 8, 2020 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2020 We did! It made me smile. Even thought I knew we would get cancelled, I was glad for the little bit of normalcy and now have them as a memento of a cruise lost.
TeeRick Posted April 8, 2020 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2020 Is there a way to use luggage tags to attach your face mask? String them end to end around your head? Any other creative use for them? Inquiring minds want to know!
Rare nunuc2000 Posted April 8, 2020 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2020 Ya we rec'd ours for our April 12th Eclipse Hawaii cruise about a week ago... I died a little inside when I opened the envelope. 😢
julia Posted April 8, 2020 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2020 How utterly ridiculous! Think of the wasted manpower in printing and mailing luggage tags, when those employees could be assisting with questions or processing refunds! SMH!

Do you really think they are dragging their feet on refunds because they don't have enough staff to process them? Could I interest you in some FCC for your prepaid shore excursions? Rare PTC DAWG Posted April 8, 2020 #9 Share Posted April 8, 2020 Yes, we actually received two sets for the 3/29 Edge Cruise..I just a chuckle out of it, automated for sure.
Mirage Posted April 8, 2020 #10 Share Posted April 8, 2020 We received them for the canceled April 5th Edge sailing. As others have said -automated procedure. Although in time of financial uncertainty for Celebrity and as a shareholder, please management could we stop that immediately? Significant waste of resources. Easy to stop that drain with zero impact on cruisers. Mirage
Mr. Click Posted April 8, 2020 #11 Share Posted April 8, 2020 Why not? I got a review request from Vegas.com yesterday for a Kelly Clarkson concert that was canclled over 3 weeks ago....and I am still waiting on the refund. Wonder if they will actually publish my review?

Pretty sure that the people printing and mailing the tags aren't customer service reps or financial office employees. Does anyone know if the tags are actually printed in house? It's the type of job that might well be contracted out.

barb-ottawa Posted April 8, 2020 #14 Share Posted April 8, 2020 I got a second set of luggage tags last week for a MARCH 23rd cruise - never mind that it was cancelled, if not, it had already sailed, lol.

I did get a refund for Rod Steward that was supposed to be the week before. I have to say that this 50th anniversary celebration is fizzling.....So far 3 trips are canceled, two concerts and now I have to wonder if the big family luncheon we have planned for June will get cancelled as well. Rare WrittenOnYourHeart Posted April 8, 2020 #16 Share Posted April 8, 2020 Ticketmaster is saying up to 30 days for refunds for cancelled events as well. I had tickets for Frozen on Broadway next week when my parents were supposed to be here on vacation during my Spring Break. At least they're making it fairly easy. Telecharge sent an email saying Broadway was closed through at least June 7 and to watch for another email about refund procedures. (We also had Come From Away tickets which are sold through them.) So everyone's dealing with longer processing times due to the volume of refunds.
Big_G Posted April 8, 2020 #17 Share Posted April 8, 2020 We got a second set a couple of days before our March 22nd Edge. We chalked it up to their fabulous IT team and had a good laugh.
TeeRick Posted April 9, 2020 #18 Share Posted April 9, 2020 My best guess is that cruise luggage tags - for all cruise lines that still use them - are done at a contract printer- perhaps the same one or two since they all kind of look the same regardless of cruise line. I don't know for sure but I can't imagine paying employees internally to print tags and put them in envelopes and then send them to the mail room. It is very likely all automated. Maybe it is time to turn off the automation though.
DomerCruisers Posted April 13, 2020 #19 Share Posted April 13, 2020 We got our second set of tags today for our long cancelled Silhouette TA to depart on April 17. The first set came March 3. Wether this is done in house or outside vendor, lots of unnecessary costs. As shareholders we are losing value.
