Viking Venus arrived in Valletta at around 07.20 local this morning. She is now in the Grand Harbour close to Viking sea which has been there for almost two weeks.

The view shows our old favourite The Sea. Venus is out of shot to the right but there would have been a nice view of her arrival  if I had thought to check it out early enough this morning.

Affirmative. She is stopping in Gibraltar on 8th May - probably for bunkers. Then according to the crew member we were chatting with, who embarked in Bodrum, they head across the Atlantic to Bermuda. No ETA until they depart Gibraltar

Yes, a number of us from the 20 WC are still in contact with a few of the Sun's crew. Unfortunately, not all of them are yet able to return and at least 1 of them is probably not returning.

You've seen the news about the new cruises this Summer that will get all but the Star back in action?

We don't see any of the welcome aboard cruises on the Viking webpage, so the only way we found about them was reading posts on here.

 

Unfortunately, our vaccination rate is well behind the UK & US, so very few Canadians have received the 2nd jab. At present, it could be end of August before DW gets her 2nd jab and then waits the 2 wks for full immunity.

I was wondering but didn't want to openly speculate whether vaccination rates in Canada was the issue. Good luck to you. We've been fully vaxxed since mid-April. Nevertheless, we're not going to jump on the Malta cruises but will proceed with the plans we already have in place so that we'll be a-cruisin' starting next May followed by one in Aug, and then Jan 23. Thinking about another in Jun/July 23.

Interesting it is Star given Sea is slated to do the new cruises that are homeported there.
