Around 10.000 euros for 2 Cruises MSC and Royal Caribbean, both cancelled by the cruiselines. It Will takes month before I see the money......

Basically nothing compared to most. 
 

About $800 of fully refundable deposits plus beverage packages. Refund requested a few weeks ago, confirmed, but still haven’t received. 
 

$2100 of airfare I’m getting back through my insurance, which I’m lucky to have had, since it seems so few people have the insurance that allows that. If it makes anyone feel better though, I did throw away $700 that I forfeited by using my insurance instead of waiting for the airline to cancel, so I did lose some money, though it was money I felt kind of happy to lose given I was allowed to make an insurance claim to begin with. 
 

So I’m waiting for about $3,000 but it’s not gonna break me if I don’t get it back for a while, and only $800 is with RC.

Waiting for approx. $12,000 CAD from two cancelled cruises...(Celebrity Transatlantic and 11 day Baltic on Jewel).  Also have a deposit of $960 CAD with RCI for a cruise in 2021 which was booked six months ago.  In addition to the cruises, we've also got airfare for three different flights that were cancelled.😲 .... Just way too much !!

$0, l only book within approximate 30 days before sailing and only book one cruise at a  time.
I do not reserve cruises that I might go on, only definite sailings that I will cruise

Approx £2800 in cruise fare and about £1400 in cruise planner items. We've opted for the refund but rebooked for late 2021, the extra 25% wouldn't have been enough to upgrade our room and with the economic uncertainty at the moment knowing that the refund will hit my account in a few weeks is a big boost. I'd already spent the money, it's budgeted as gone, so while we don't get our holiday it's basically a bonus!

Ours is about $18,000+ but we had 7 cruises booked, plus tours, airfares. Will have to wait and see what we get back and how much we will lose.

No....if you make final payment and then Royal cancels your early August cruise, you are entitled to a full refund.  If by chance it sails and you don't  want to cruise, cancel 72 hours prior and then the entire amount is a FCC.  The latest round has a backend use of April of 2022, so that is probably the date you'll  have, unless Royal opens up late spring/summer of 2022 in the meantime so there is the slight chance it could be even longer for you to utilize the FCC.  It's a gamble only you can decide.

It boggles my mind how many people book using NRD's.  Just book group space as far out as you can through a reputable TA that will have a refundable deposit.   That's  what I have on my late June and  August  cruises. As well as my two in 2021 and my one in 2022.

$7871 for our Alaska Cruise/Tour and $1400 for excursions for that trip that all PIF. Our next cruise isn't until Sept and that is the NE/Canada 10 day on Brilliance. We have 6 other cruises booked, with 2 that are PIF.

Thank you, SNJCruiser. As I said, first and last time. And I have cruised fairly often. 

While what you write is true, there is no way I will tie up more money in the (likely) chance they will cancel. If they don't, I certainly wouldn't cruise in August and, again, I would have 3 cabins paid for that cannot be transferred. Coordinating schedules with 3 couples can be a bit of a challenge. Lesson learned.

For some reason this morning that phrase reminded me of the J. W. Wentworth ad "it's my money and I need it now." Need more coffee.

People use nonrefundable deposits to get the room they want and if GS and above.  Someone above asked why.  If I'm going to sail, I want a cabin where I want it.

 

Another lesson this may teach us is not to book as many cruises during the year as previously booked.  But of course no one could ever predict this fiasco.

Fully aware of the coordination problem.  We have  5 couples and 3 kids on our late June cruise to Bermuda which has yet to be cancelled.  It would be the first time that all of us would cruise together and probably will never happen.  Two in the group are teachers and don't know what their 20-21 schedule is yet and Covid probably soured the 1 couple who has never cruised before.  It is what it is, but it's a bitter pill to swallow.

Yes, it is. We were taking our sons and daughters-in-law, 3 of which are teachers. I feel for you. Figures crossed it will work out for all and, far more importantly, that we all stay well.

I've booked both ways - refundable and non refundable.  It comes down to price and as I always buy insurance which covers just about anything I could ever have imagined up until now, it has always save me money when I do book at the non refundable deposit price.    If and when I cruise again, I will book much closer to the date of the cruise - within the final payment date, so it won't be an issue going forward.  I really don't see me having multiple cruises booked for a long time, if ever.

I have 500.00 in a NRD suite deposit on Allure in October.  Since the dry dock is on hold the room I have booked is no longer going to be built.  It's the new Panoramic Suite over the bridge.   I would think that I will get totally refunded since there are no other Star options available on the sailing.

A little over $10,000 on 4 booked cruises. Our cruise in May was just cancelled earlier this week. I already requested a refund for this cruise and will do the same if/when our other booked cruises are cancelled. I have no plans to book another cruise until cruising resumes.

Had May1st  20 day cruise with Norwegian cancelled, requested refund but we are being told it will be 90 days before getting refund!    Have $6,000 tied up with them!    Anyone have experience getting refund from Norwegian Cruise line?

$194 on two cruises.  had to pay port fees/taxes for myself on a casino comp JR suite on Indy in September. Used a future cruise booking for Harmony April 2021 transatlantic.  final payment on that is not until January, so not worried about that one yet.  For Indy in september- i haven't booking anything on planner, so i can wait until closer to sail date to see what happens.
