Joseph2017China Posted April 29, 2020 #27 Share Posted April 29, 2020 RCCL will sail on that date, unless CDC changes the order......or at least really close to that date. They are not in control of the date. Once you buy something, it's yours.....so it's not my money anymore, the cruise is mine. If they can't supply what I bought, than I get a refund.....just like if I order something on Amazon.
Plumbjim Posted April 29, 2020 #28 Share Posted April 29, 2020 What about mid July? Received a Club Royale offer where July 14 was the earliest cruise you could book.

The CDC order ends July 24th, so unless they shorten the order June 12 is a no go.

Just1Wonder Posted April 29, 2020 #33 Share Posted April 29, 2020 I just booked the Oasis sailing June 27th, 2020. I think it's greater than .001% we sail!!

So you think the cruise lines are going to have a plan implemented ( hospital ship, specialist Dr. , critical care units) to conform to what the CDC wants to recind the no sail order that doesn't expire until July 24th?? Whether its right or wrong the CDC will determine WHEN they sail.
Just1Wonder Posted April 29, 2020 #36 Share Posted April 29, 2020 I read the CDC order. The order expires 100 days from March 14, 2020. That would make it June 22, not July 24th. And that day can be earlier according to the guidelines. Also, the plans mentioned was supposed to be submitted within 7 days of the order, so I'm sure the cruise lines did that already. I still think the June 27th cruise will sail. The country is opening up. And the CDC decision making process concerning the cruising industry will probably be guided by the current administration, not on thier own. https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/No-Sail-Order-Cruise-Ships_Extension_4-9-20-encrypted.pdf

One hundred days from April 15 is July 24. No way are the cruise lines anywhere near being able to meet the requirements of the order, and the order will almost definitely be carried out in full, if not extended. toocruisin2 Posted April 29, 2020 #38 Share Posted April 29, 2020 I'm not a legal expert, but I understand that the expiration of the no-sail order is July 24th, and I wouldn't be surprised if the CDC issues new guidance in May, once they've reviewed the plans from the operators. We have cruises out of NYC and Bayonne in mid-July and mid-August this year; because of the impact of COVID-19 on our region, and the aggressive actions of the tri-state Governors to curb the spread of the virus, it's my belief (only an opinion, no facts to back it up) that they will hold cruise operators to additional standards that may go beyond the focus of the CDC Order. The Governors here are very concerned about the assembly of large crowds, and potential for the infection to be re-introduced to the area by visitors from out of state/country; they've used (incorrectly) the term attractive nuisance to describe events that draw large crowds, and people from neighboring areas, as a problem. In short, I'm not optimistic either cruise will sail from the NY area.

He's starting phase 1 on Monday for slowly reopening the state. The exceptions are Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties which will remain on lock down due to their high number of cases and deaths.
