Rare Lupush Posted May 7, 2020 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2020 I wonder with the cruise industry seemingly not getting back to "normal" for an undetermined amount of time after sailings begin will VV need to rethink their adults only policy? I know this goes against everything that they've marketed to this point, but in order to get cabins filled they may need to pivot. Thoughts? aimee0715 Posted May 7, 2020 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2020 I'll gladly take a refund if they rethink that policy. 11 1

twodjs Posted May 8, 2020 #5 Share Posted May 8, 2020 No way! Remember they only have one or two ships to book. Others have way more. We'd also cancel if kids were allowed.
garymfreedman Posted May 8, 2020 #6 Share Posted May 8, 2020 I think quite the contrary-No kids = less germs.... The ship is also designed for no kids, and would basically not be feasable to retrofit.. I am only sailing on them BECAUSE there are no kids..
drewdawg199 Posted May 8, 2020 #7 Share Posted May 8, 2020 I also think after the quarantine is over, people will be looking to get away from their kids, they've been stuck with them 24/7 for two months straight. 1

Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted May 19, 2020 #9 Share Posted May 19, 2020 The'd have to do some major revamping of the public spaces if they rethink their policy about kids. They would have to have a play area and activity center and kid-centric things to do. I don't see them going that route.
Nymich Posted May 21, 2020 #10 Share Posted May 21, 2020 My guess is most of us who booked in the beginning did it in large part because of NO KIDS! I would cancel as well I can get see kids anywhere.

flgrl67 Posted May 21, 2020 #12 Share Posted May 21, 2020 I don't see them changing the no kids rule. However, they are already changing and/or eliminating perks that drew us to the line, and specifically the rock star suites, at the beginning. We don't want to rebook now with the possibility of more undesirable changes. Therefore, we made the decision to go ahead and cancel all together today. If things look up in a year or two, then we will be back.

No worries, I am sure they would not... The ship is not built, designed, or amenable to kids..And would not be pratical to be redesigned for kids...
Rare BSR Posted June 24, 2020 #16 Share Posted June 24, 2020 I'm looking forward to booking a cruise on VV with no kids.
Rockette Posted November 23, 2020 #17 Share Posted November 23, 2020 I hope they don't change it either. It's one of the reasons why I'm the most curious about Virgin in the first place.
garymfreedman Posted January 30, 2021 #18 Share Posted January 30, 2021 I think Covid has answered the question on kids: Cruising is not as safe with kids.... https://cruiseradio.net/why-cruise-lines-may-have-to-sail-without-kids-for-a-while/
cruisekitty22 Posted March 3, 2021 #19 Share Posted March 3, 2021 No kids is a HUGE selling point for Virgin for us..We are over 65 and dont want to see any kids. Please do NOT let kids on this ship!!! We will NOT sail this ship if that happens!!! I just convinced my husband to try Virgin because of NO KIDS and a lot of other perks we like with this cruise line.
HUNKY Posted March 18, 2021 #20 Share Posted March 18, 2021 As of now, Covid vaccines are not available for those under 16, and you will need to be vaccinated to sail on Virgin.

Rare Tapi Posted March 19, 2021 #22 Share Posted March 19, 2021 (edited) I have small kids, and I’m researching Virgin exactly because they have a no kids policy. Since our kids were born 11 years ago, we’ve sailed with them every single time (11 cruises across 6 cruise lines). As a our 20th wedding anniversary approaches, we are looking forward to leaving the kids home while we celebrate in an “adults only” environment. Virgin seems to be the right choice. wiskt Posted March 20, 2021 #23 Share Posted March 20, 2021 Highly doubtful, I believe the whole idea is a vacation away from the kids. They risk losing family bookings. However, they do not need to put extra funds or focus on kids facilities like waterparks, kid clubs, kids meals, and babysitting services. Not having kids means the opportunity to have vaccinated adults. If they were having kids that would be another obstacle to sailing.
Mediterranean_Honeymooner Posted April 10, 2021 #25 Share Posted April 10, 2021 I seriously hope not (and I have two kids). I cruise with my kids on other lines - this line is just for us!
