Despite the website "COVID 19 Update" not being updated on the =X= website, I did notice today that your EQ 9/25 was the first Ft. Lauderdale sailing scheduled.   We are scheduled for 11/6.  Final pay in 5 weeks.  Still hoping protocols will make it a fun cruise.

I know my fellow Georgian, the OP is dead set against wearing a mask.   Puts the final payment in doubt for sure.

We are booked on the Oct 26th EQ. I am also opposed to wearing a mask ON BOARD, but I will during embarkation in the terminal. As long as there are still shows and no mask requirement we will go.

Looking forward to the announcement tomorrow. Hopefully they will release the new protocols soon as well.

I think you can count on being required to wear masks inside except when seated to eat or drink or you are in your cabin.  If you look at the FAQ put out by Costa it seemed that's what it was mandating.

Forget it...

I read that, too... masks and health checks required at embarkation (which you will receive an "appointment" for) and onboard masks are required when inside (public areas) unless seated for eating/drinks. Outside, like at the pool, you can take it off. No buffet, all meals and snacks served in restaurants only. Also, they will only seat you with people you are traveling with and you can't change your dining assignment. No dance parties/disco nights. Casino will be open, tables will be limited in players and no one will be able to stand and watch the players. Fewer machines will be operational. Shows will have limited seating for distancing. This is what Costa has put out. There's more... that's all I can recall right now. I read enough to know that cruising like this won't be something I'll sign up for at this point. I'm not that desperate to cruise. Yet.

Given the tremendous uncertainty with cruising right now, X should change the final payment due dates to 30d before, not 90d.

I would view final payment now for a fall cruise as an interest free loan to the cruise line.  Still too many unknowns.

Early on they has shortened final payment periods.   Then they came up with the CWC program which allows you to cancel up to 2 days before sailing with 100% FCC.   So yes come final payment time I look at the current situation and cancel if I'm not comfortable.  So far they haven't released any details about what things are actually going to be like so I have no way of being comfortable with making a final payment at this point and continue to cancel.

August and September bookings may have been removed from the booking systems to reduce ship occupancy with late bookings if they do go.

Perhaps... but sad to say wasn't this explanation put forward by Carnival spokesman re disappearing Carnival cruises that were subsequently cancelled?

My Sep 26 to Bermuda is now the first Bermuda cruise from Baltimore on the books... but I lift and shifted May 6 to next year... saw the writing on the wall then and happy for that new option. I doubt any are leaving from Baltimore this year.

The CWC is wonderful, but with so much economic uncertainty,  people who are optimistic/hopeful (or dreaming) that an upcoming cruise will go, shouldn't need to have their money "invested" (ie FCC) with the cruise line for another year or two when it is cancelled.

I also would not feel comfortable with making a final payment at this point.

I assume final payment is a no go for you.

Can you lift and shift or move the date?

I am considering that...it changes from a 10 day to a 9 day, with Key West left off...

Let me know if you are able to do that, I have been trying to all day... Was told no several different people now I am waiting for a manager from resolutions to call me?? They really should let us Flip to next year 9 night, for gods sake we are losing a day?

Not sure why they are not being very cooperative? If anyone has any luck please let me know how you where able to do it?

Update, Celebrity would not consider the "lift and shift" due to the cruise being one night shorter next year.  Way to go.

I had applied FCC's to this cruise, I have requested they be reinstated, and I will probably attempt to cash them out if I can.
