bonniew88 Posted September 2, 2020 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2020 Our family ages 17-83 is sailing in April 2021....the escape room sounds like fun but we've never done one. How difficult to find the clues? Will we be able to figure it out?

How difficult to find the clues? Will we be able to figure it out? usually the game is played with the max number of twelve. This is from Royal. Sounds simple, no? Unless you've got Sherlock Holmes' investigatory skills and enhanced powers of observation and deduction, it's actually quite a challenge; fewer than 30 percent of groups actually manage to escape in 60 minutes. Fortunately, if your group gets stuck on one puzzle for too long, an official escape guide is on hand to nudge you in the right direction. For instance, during our session we never discovered on our own that some round panels actually swung out to reveal hidden spaces, but while our backs were turned, our guide opened one so that when we finally noticed it we knew to check all the others. MeHeartCruising Posted September 2, 2020 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2020 (edited) We did the one on the Harmony. Like all escape rooms, they are indeed solvable within the time limit. There is an employee present who may offer you some hints should you be hopelessly lost. Depending on the size of your party (and perhaps social distancing rules), you may or may not be in the room with strangers. There were about 12 people in our group, I think. Divide up into smaller groups to tackle the various puzzles but still work together as well. Whether your group can solve it depends on your ability to work together and how smart you are. Some groups solve it. Some do not. We solved it with about 1 minute to spare. But I don't think we would have had it not been for a little nudge from the employee. Ourusualbeach Posted September 3, 2020 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2020 We had a great time doing the escape room on Oasis. We escaped with just over 5 minutes to spare.

ipeeinthepool Posted September 3, 2020 #7 Share Posted September 3, 2020 Doesn't sound like an event that will continue after Covid. Locked in a small interior room with strangers touching everything to see if it will open to reveal clues.

In the US it will be a requirement to cruise or enter the country. The CDC cannot say there is a vaccine at the same time saying that the vaccine fails so cruising cannot start. keyboardjunkie Posted September 3, 2020 #13 Share Posted September 3, 2020 We have found the escape rooms to be lots of fun (but we are geeks). We have always solved them while working with a team of strangers and without the help of the 'guide' in the room. The key element is to be observant, always looking around the room and noticing things and asking 'why is that there?' (for example, plaques on several walls with weird symbols, or something missing from a bookshelf, etc). The second important thing is to talk to each other (i.e. 'I have a ---------' does anyone else have something like this or that might go with this?'). They are great fun in our opinion but the time sure goes fast!

tserface Posted September 3, 2020 #15 Share Posted September 3, 2020 It's a ton of fun. When we did it a couple of years ago it was only $6/person, but now the price is higher, but I'd still pay it. It only lasts an hour, but it's a super good time and a great puzzle game. Good special effects as well.

There are numerous companies all working at warp speed to develop a vaccine and the October dates just happened to line up with the progress of a couple of companies. I doubt that several companies conspired to time their progress to align with the election. It's as fast as they can work to start protecting people as soon as possible. It's good for either party to end this nightmare as soon as possible.
