The old Tropicale, now Peace Boat, is heading to the scrap yard in India.

Is there more than one?   The old Home Lines Oceanic was also a Peace Boat, after being a BIG RED BOAT.   Ran into her in Manhattan.

Tropicale did sail for Peace Boat, but it was under the name Ocean Dream. Oceanic was Peace Boat's ship prior to Ocean Dream. The Carnivale also sailed for Peace Boat as Topaz from 2003-2008. Peace Boat was the final operator for Oceanic and Ocean Dream.

This brings back memories.  Our first cruise was on Home Lines then Big Red Boat - then Home Lines again out of NYC - during the days family/friends were allowed onboard for bon voyage parties, and streamers were allowed to be thrown off the pier to the departing ships!

Are you calling me old  LOL!  Our first cruise was for our first wedding anniversary.  Had a porthole cabin. Splurged on that cruise.  I was hooked then.  Every time I see a ship I had once sailed on scrapped it makes me so sad.
