Did you really meet them in the cigar lounge? Had you any suspicions?

I walked into the Connoisseur Club just to check it out. Very nice room but full of cigarettes smokers. I was under the impression the Connoisseur Club was for cigar smokers. It is unfortunate because I do not like to smoke cigars on open air decks because of fire hazard , and intruding on others peaceful night if they don’t enjoy cigar smoke. The lounge was a nice spot to relax, not introduce smoke to others space, and it was also somewhat controlled (fire hazard) . Cig smokers always outnumbered those of us burning down a stick! It is what it is. Unfortunately, the boss refuses to cruise on any ship but Oasis class now - so no cigar lounge for me.

I assumed the RCs Connoisseur Clubs were the same. Since I'm an X-smoker (29 years) I guess I shouldn't have complained about the cigarette stench as that is one of the designated smoking areas, at least for now. Congratulations. 20 years for me.

Merion_Mom Posted September 23, 2020 #32 Share Posted September 23, 2020 I remember years ago that cigar smokers complained bitterly about cigarette smokers using the Connoisseur Club. Sometimes they were kicked out, because they weren't supposed to be in there.

frank808 Posted September 23, 2020 #34 Share Posted September 23, 2020 Last oct/Nov we were on Liberty and the cigar lounge was still there. Also vintages on the promenade was still there but barely anyone in it. Sent from my SM-T377P using Tapatalk
deliver42 Posted September 23, 2020 #35 Share Posted September 23, 2020 RCCL has been taking away the smoking lounges one by one. There are none on the Spectrum or Oasis class ships, and I doubt the Icon class will have one. That's the reason that I've been going on NCL , Princess and MSC. They have cigar lounges on most of their ships. I haven''t died yet so I haven't gone to HAL, even though they, too, have lounges.
cruiseguy1016 Posted September 23, 2020 #36 Share Posted September 23, 2020 I was on Freedom in March for her first (and only) cruise after Amplification. I was hoping the cigar lounge would still be there. Unfortunately, it had been turned into a library.

I still enjoy a fine cigar on special occasions from time to time and love the smell of cigar and pipe smoke. I cant handle cigarette smoke at all anymore.
