Got to meet some interesting people in the Connoisseur Club. Me the retired cop and my son the detective got a good laugh after meeting these gems in the club.

Nothing like losing your freedom on Freedom of the Seas!  🤣  Florida sentenced all four of them to prison terms from 6 months to 8 years for the leader of the pack.  Did you really meet them in the cigar lounge?  Had you any suspicions?

We did a B2B Caribbean cruise on the Freedom March 2019. I walked into the Connoisseur Club just to check it out. Very nice room but full of cigarettes smokers. I was under the impression the Connoisseur Club was for cigar smokers.

It is unfortunate because I do not like to smoke cigars on open air decks because of fire hazard , and intruding on others peaceful night if they don’t enjoy cigar smoke.  The lounge was a nice spot to relax, not introduce smoke to others space, and it was also somewhat controlled (fire hazard) .  Cig smokers always outnumbered those of us burning down a stick!  It is what it is.  Unfortunately, the boss refuses to cruise on any ship but Oasis class now - so no cigar lounge for me.

I remember way back when Michales Club on Celebrity ships was dedicated for cigar smokers only. I assumed the RCs Connoisseur Clubs were the same.  Since I'm an X-smoker (29 years) I guess I shouldn't have complained about the cigarette stench as that is one of the designated smoking areas, at least for now.

Congratulations. 20 years for me.

I glad they do allow smoking in that one lounge , but wish they removed it from the casino. We are hopefully sailing on Liberty in February. Have not sailed from Galveston recently.

Smoking and Gambling go together like peanut butter & jelly.  Just the way it is

I’m not aware of any active smoking allowed indoors except the Casino.

I don’t think cigar smoking is permitted in the Casino.

M8

I have never smoked so I don't understand why cigar smoking isn't permitted in the casinos while cigarettes are. To me smoke is smoke.

RCCL has been taking away the smoking lounges one by one. There are none on the Spectrum or Oasis class ships, and I doubt the Icon class will have one. That's the reason that I've been going on NCL , Princess and MSC. They have cigar lounges on most of their ships. I haven''t died yet so I haven't gone to HAL, even though they, too, have lounges.

The casinos on all RC ships are smoking lounges that allows gambling.

Can someone please explain why there seems to be a difference between cigars and cigarettes regarding where they can and can't be smoked?

A lot of people claim that cigar and pipe smoke is more offensive than cigarette smoke. Personally, I love the smell of a cigar. I really love the smell of a pipe. I can't stand the smell of a cigarette.

Same here.  I smoked cigarettes for 25 years and quit 10 years ago.   I still enjoy a fine cigar on special occasions from time to time and love the smell of cigar and pipe smoke.   I cant handle cigarette smoke at all anymore.

I understand why some don't like it - that's why i enjoyed the cigar lounge on previous cruises.  Safe place to enjoy a cigar w/ out disturbing others.

You think the smoke doesn’t make its way to the non smoking side?

My wife won’t let me ride motorcycles anymore.  I’m looking at an 83 Sturgis as a “project” this winter.  Wonder what she’ll do when I take it out next spring for a test ride 😇

She won't need to worry about it as 1982 was the last year for the Sturgis. 🤣1981 to 1982.
