Will RCCL Follow Celebrity and Extend Double Points through May 4, 2022?

Apparently, Celebrity has a slightly different take on Double Points than Royal.

"Now through December 31, 2020, Classic members and above will earn double Club Points on sailings departing 1/1/2021 through 5/4/2022 when you book a veranda stateroom or higher."

Differences...

- Double points extended through May 2022

- Stateroom must be a veranda (balcony) or higher

This makes sense given the fact that cruising probably will not resume until sometime later than January 1, 2021.  What will Royal do?

So......

  • not for solo cruisers
  • not for existing bookings
  • not for inside or ocean view cabins; only balcony and higher

Not much to get excited about, IMO.

However, we have no RCCL bookings in 2022 yet, so if RCCL does this, too, I'll keep an eye out.  The problem is they have already committed to ANY booking in 2021, so it would be weird for them to tack on, "oh, yeah, in 2022 also, BUT (see above list).

I think its solo cruisers. It's based on double occupancy I believe. Just read it thru fast.

But you are paying for a cabin as a double occupancy, minus the T&F.

Sorry, I don't have the patience to read the very very fine print.😃

That would be nice if they did extend.

We did our Dec 2020 L&S to 2021..... and are looking for a reason to try our first "spring" months cruise in 2022 to make up for missing a vacation in 2020 entirely......... if things are up and running by then of course.

This thread is starting to get confusing as people are talking about both Royal and Celebrity and their programs are completely different

Let's keep it focused on Royal.  Those  with questions about X can go to that board.
