Spend $500 or more, get 10,000 Membership Rewards® points

World's Leading Cruise Lines

I have it on multiple cards but will use it on my Platinum card.  The are offers great since the points can be worth much more than $.01 when used for foreign biz class flights. Says for new purchases only but I've used them for additional payments many times. These are the brands it is able to be used for.

On mine and my husbands it came up as a $100 statement credit but it is only good until 12/31/20.  I'm not sure I want to give them $1000 now for a Nov. 2021 cruise that might not go.

I have not checked my Amex offers to see if I have it or what it specifically says, but in the past it was to book a cruise by a certain date as opposed to the cruise had to depart by that date.

I have the offer for Celebrity and NCL: on one card it is spend $500 get $125 back, the other card has it for points.  As of yesterday there was not one for WLCL, and if it is there now, it will be a shame, as I just made final payment on a Carnival cruise that probably will not sail in Jan.  These are on AMEX green and Optima platinum.  Never get those offers on the Hilton Honors card.

Just checked and found it for points on the green card.  EM

I have the Hilton AMEX card. This card does not have the offer

Usually these offers do not apply to most "branded" AMEX cards such as hotels, airlines, etc.

When I look at the offer for a qualifying card I have, it says:

Spend $500 or more, get $100 back

World's Leading Cruise Lines

Must do this by 12/31/2020. The $100 shows up as a credit on your credit card statement.

Details

Get a one-time $100 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $500 in one or more transactions on cruise line sailings with Carnival, Holland America Line, Princess, Seabourn, or Cunard by 12/31/2020. See wlcl.com/amex. For reservations only. Terms and exclusions apply.

Another card shows the same, but also has a similar offer for Celebrity which gets $125 back on a $500 charge.

I used on a existing reservation and got the 100.00 back with in an hour.🙂

What's really nice is when you use it to make a reservation, and then the offer comes up again and you pay another $500 and get to use it again. And if you can manage to use it on both your card and your spouse's card, that too works out well.

I used the Celebrity one.  I am hesitant to put any more money towards the cruiselines until I see that they are actually up and running.  I have a lot of $$ in gift cards and FCCs/FCDs with Princess already.  Although these offers are usually very tempting, 2020 has taught me to hold back.

I owe $457 after using the offer with my card.  My SO also has the offer on his card.  If I call instead of pay online and add gratuities, will there be one charge for final payment plus gratuities, pushing the total over $500 to receive the offer?  Or will the gratuities be charged separately?

Request a small refund to the original method of payment to make your remaining balance over $500 and process the new payment on the card that has the offer. I’ve done it before with success.

That is a good idea, thank you.  This was a casino offer (I haven’t been on Princess since my late SO, who loved the casino, died) so $947 was the total for the 7 night cruise, plus $400 to use in the casino.  I will have to try something else this time, but I will remember that for the future.

If that is your issue, just buy a $500 princess gift card.  Then use the gift card when you want to.  Also, you'll get another $50 gift card.  The $500 doesn't expire, though the $50 does on 12/21.

Does anyone have a backdoor link to the offer?  I have the offer on my card, but we have others, and it isn't showing up.  I know there are some restrictions on which cards (airlines, etc) but these are "normal" amex accounts within our family.

In the past, some sharp people were able to share it on here.

TIA

My PVP gave me a good tip that might help.  There is a limit of 100 offers at a time.  Select a few offers you know you will not use and “save to card”.  (If you select offers with expiration dates coming up soon, they will drop off your saved list quickly.). If you move eight to the saved list, that will leave 92 on your available list.  Log out, log back in, and you should see eight more offers added to your available list.  One of them might be the offer you are looking for.  The PVP told me that sometimes the new offers are added instantly and sometimes they won’t show up until the next day.

Yup.  That can work.  I tried that already... Good to remind folks though!

In general, AMEX cards issued by AMEX (not by banks or credit unions) that are co-branded with hotels or airlines (like Hilton and Delta) do not get the cruise ship offers.

One site for adding offers is https://www.americanexpress.com/us/network/shopping.html#travel  but I do not see the Princess offer in the list.
