hunt182644 Posted November 7, 2020 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2020 Looking for information from those who have done this excursion? I see where they say if they don't get enough people signed up it could be cancelled, would hate to book airfare ay YUL then have excursion cancelled. It would be somewhat cheaper for us to fly home from Montreal also having never been there before would give us a chance to see some of the city. I see where there is bus travel between the two cities and this would be an option.
Rare Ombud Posted November 8, 2020 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2020 I did it last August. Basically it was a quick tour between cities, then Montreal on my own for a few hours, transfer to the airport. I would do it again. FWIW I had a water bottle and the 'TSA' wanted me to leave the line to down it. I drink fast so I just went to the end of the line / chugged / back in way less than 5 minutes as they clear the line faster than many US Airports. So if you want to bring water, drink it before getting in line. No issue taking uncapped bottle through. Flight to SF was delayed 3 hrs. I should have asked to be rescheduled as Bart stops at MN and I got in at 23:55. So check flight timing.
hunt182644 Posted November 8, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted November 8, 2020 Thanks for the repyl, was there a full bus? My main concern is booking airfare then having Princess cancel the excursion. Will be also contacting Princess to see what they have to say..
tillys mom Posted November 8, 2020 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2020 We flew in to Montreal, spent a couple of nights, and then took the bus to Quebec on our own. It worked well and we prebooked bus tickets so no worries there.
Rare Coral Posted November 8, 2020 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2020 I did the opposite cruise. We did fly into Quebec City but most of my friends flew into Montreal. They found their own way to the ship but I have to say Montreal was more popular for people to fly into.
skynight Posted November 8, 2020 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2020 Have you considered a one way car rental from Quebec City drop off Montreal airport?
Rare CineGraphic Posted November 8, 2020 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2020 The train station is a 5 minute walk from the Quebec port.....business class was lovely. We plan on doing it again next fall.
Rare Ombud Posted November 8, 2020 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2020 What did you do with your luggage when sightseeing in Montreal? Did the train go to the airport?

We spent a few days in a lovely hotel in Montreal, so luggage wasn't a problem for us.

Quebec City is more picturesque IMHO.
