New CDC Guidelines for Vaccinated People

Having small children at home, I've wondered this myself. My wife and I are now vaccinated but needless to say, the kids won't be eligible for the foreseeable future. If vaccines do become a requirement, will minors be allowed to cruise with vaccinated adults? Or will cruise lines limit cruises to just vaccinated adults?

If un-vaccinated kids aren't allowed, I guess the honorable thing for my wife and I to do is obvious: Leave the kids with grandma and go on a cruise without them. 😂

No one knows yet. On the Israel sailings they are allowing kids with a negative vivid test

Thanks Molly. Hopefully that rule (if replicated in the US) paves the way for a return to family cruising (at least the kids will be thrilled).

So no families. Adults only.  Teens allowed early next year. Children allowed sometime later in 2022.

I don't see the cruise lines doing this...

revenue generation trumps social convention. Especially after a year with overwhelming social convention an zero revenue.

Or science, kids are so low risk. Better to kick off smokers and 70+ first. 🤣

All the 70+ that want to be vaccinated will have been vaccinated by April. We’re working on the 50+ already here in Florida.

It is estimated that by mid May there will be 225 million fully vaccinated people in the U.S.A. .

IF, that many will get it. So far 30 Million or 9.2% are Fully Vaccinated and 59 Million have had at least one shot. Have feeling wont get to 225 Million with 20-40% Groups turning it down, even 1/3 US Military saying no... At least by May anyone that want's it should been able. Got my first 2 days ago, will be ready Cruise by time ships start!

You do realize “fully vaccinated” with quotes as Royal describes it means the requirement is only for 16+ and children are still allowed to sail. You have to watch quotes and read fine print.

I know what RCI is saying now. That can change. My point was that I support no exceptions.

People who say no have made a personal choice, and if that results in them not being able to cruise, that is on them for making their own choice. Sympathy optional, but not expected.

Agree, been saying for Months longer takes US Cruises start less likely they'll Ban or require Kids Vaccinated... Now even CDC starting allow Vaccinated Grand Parents to visit UnVax Kids and Grand Kids homes with no Mask's required for any of them...

America may be largely vaccinated by summer however areas like the Caribbean are struggling to obtain vaccine.  How much tourism will be allowed until local population is protected?

Yes...and what about those of us that have international cruises booked...Us having been vaccinated may mean nothing if we can't visit those ports. I'm hoping my British Isles for July 2021 gets cancelled sooner than final payment date.

Children's Hospital in Miami has started vaccinations for at-risk 16 to 21-year-olds.

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has announced availability of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for Florida children and young adults ages 16 to 21 who are currently under the care of physicians or specialists for medical conditions identified by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as posing an increased risk for severe illness associated with COVID-19.

Texas has been vaccinating qualified 16 and older since early January

Puerto Rico and the USVI are both part of the U.S. vaccination program, so they will be open a lot sooner than some of the other ports of call.

Wow, that is amazing that they got the vaccine for that age group.  But I am pleased that Florida did Seniors First, was so happy when hubby and i got our second shot.

We are doing seniors, but also first responders and pushing teachers who want it now.

By Wednesday a new group will be announced, my guess is 1C which was mentioned last week. 62% of seniors over 65 done.

I saw one group of teachers was getting the JnJ and wondered if they felt cheated. Not sure if it's by school or going around to schools like they did with retirement homes.

Texas might not be top but its moving along.

When I was at the doctor last week and all 3 of us in the room vaccinated I was wondering if we could stop wearing masks with this announcement (it had been pre announced so we knew it was coming), or if doctors offices will still require it even for vaccinated.

Dr’s offices will probably still require it because it would be too confrontational to mediate the inevitable arguments between the masked and unmasked in the office..

Why would we have arguments. This was a teensy doctors office, not the waiting room. Am I going to argue with the doctor or his assistant?  Whatever they said I'd say ok, it wouldnt occur to me personally to argue. Maybe you meant the large waiting room for multiple doctors where I was asking about. I dont argue with doctors.

Patients inevitably will argue with other patients if some are masked and some are not. The physicians and office staff would be forced to mediate those arguments. Peace in the practice would suggest everyone wears masks regardless.

No one should feel cheated getting the J/J....take what is given. Our school districts are giving it at the main district offices.

Again in a private doctors office. There are not multiple patients in the doctors office.

..though I did go in with my mom. They got a folding chair for me to sit on it was so small. What doctor do you see that he puts more than one patient in the same office to consult with? No doctor I've ever seen.

Again.... I still think you might be confused and mixing up a doctors office with the waiting room.  You comments to me make no sense.

You can gather indoors with unvaccinated people from one other household (for example, visiting with relatives who all live together) without masks, unless any of those people or anyone they live with has an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

Let's see - can't have 2 additional couples over for dinner, just one.  Let's hope we pick the right one.

What in the hell science is this?

Yet something else I can say and back up.....CDC still has no credibility.
