"Have It All" is NOT without gratuities.....

That’s the old promotion.  People are talking about the new one now that does NOT have HSC included.

And here-in lies the confusion when your marketing department is too darned lazy to come up with a new name for a new pricing structure, rather than reusing an old promo name that had different inclusions!

I am on a Christmas Cruise on the Eurodam for 7 nights.  There are three of us and we are in a Pinnacle Suite.  We received the Casino rate and the price included the SBP and  1 specialty restaurant dinner.

I asked my TA to reprice it with the HAVE IT ALL package.

The price went up by $4000 for the three of us.  We would lose the Casino Rate (not combinable) and the only thing we would gain is $300 in shore excursion credit and WiFi.  We never take ship excursions so that would be a waste.

It was a no-brained.  We kept what we had.

HAL has to do better than this.

But you likely will be required to do so anyway, at least in the early weeks/months after resumption of operations.

Still not worth giving up the Casino Rate and SBP and spending $4000. Before I take a ship excursion, I will stay on the ship or cancel the cruise. Just hope that requirement is made clear before final payment,.

Doesn't involve 'giving up' anything... just the rules at the current time. You have the choice to cancel or reschedule.

The requirement is already clear... your choice.

I know some of the older forum members remember the discussions on cruise forums about how the cruise lines would "Nickle and Dime" us while all the time wishing they would come up with an all inclusive package.. I guess it took 2 decades but they are finally coming around! hahaha

After the "Have it all" policy on 21st April 2021, the HAL prices have gone up like crazy!

I don't mind the all inclusive price going up because I wouldn't pay for it anyway (don't drink much, don't need Wi-Fi on a cruise if there are plenty of activities),

But,
The basic price without the offers has also gone up significantly.

Celebrity is definitely a better deal now, with their incredible, much-anticipated last-minute price drops!

Aside from the overall base cruise price I've taken a peak at a couple  7 day itineraries to see what the up charge is for the "Have it All" package and see if it works for us. On 7 day routes it appeared to be about $US45-50/day.

I'd say that price point hits a fair  'sweetspot' for what we would look for and what we would be willing to pay as -

  • moderate drinkers who would never purchase a beverage package at full price
  • take 1 maybe 2 ship based excursions (in a week)
  • generally pay for only 1 specialty dinner in a week
  • have always been too cheap for wifi and get the absolute minimum and relied on shore wifi but find it becoming more essential to have wifi each trip.

I couldn't have said this any better.  Exactly how we look at this.

Just reviewed our Aug Norwegian Fjords cruise out of Amsterdam in Aug.

TA advised that if we fully paid in late Jan, we got $250 discount.

All numbers are per person.

"Your booking is PAID IN FULL. No additional payment is due at this time.

Your booking includes the following perks:
$150 Onboard Credit per person

$900 Air credit/person

7 Day Surf Internet Package , worth $112

Signature Beverage Package , worth $145 (up to $11 per drink, 15 drinks per day max)

1 Specialty Dining (Guest 1 & 2)

Shore Excursion Discount by 03/14/2021 (Guest 1 & 2)

2 Onboard Value Booklets"

Figured our booking price paid was $1737 pp, minus $900 non-stop roundtrip airfare from Houston to London & then Amsterdam to Houston in peak summer season, minus our approx interior cabin price $700,  = $137 left.  The $150 OBC will be used to offset the $101.50 gratuities for the 7 nights,  leaving us net cost of $89 pp for all the perks above.

Pretty good deal for us...

The "HAVE IT ALL"  sales are dynamic. As a poster mentioned, the terms and amenities change on a regular basis.  HAL doesn't change its name (HAVE IT ALL) when it is revised.  I've attached the sale from a Black Friday 2020 email from Holland America.

Normally you would be correct, but according to HAL this new version of  "Have It All" is not a promotion, but rather a new permanent pricing structure available to every booking going forward.

So these amenities are bake in, going forward what you see is what you get (no gratuities included)....

I was confused by the nomenclature at first too. My "Have it All" fare that I booked last year included Signature Beverage and Signature Dining packages, plus prepaid gratuities, but not shore excursions or free WiFi (free WiFi was only for suites, and we're in a Verandah). So, that would appear to be a better deal than the new promo even though we're planning to use the cruise line's shore excursions. I assume we can use our OBC to buy the WiFi packages once on board if we so desire? (We've got $300 pp in OBC that I doubt we'd fully utilize otherwise.)

You can absolutely use your OBC to buy wifi on board.

The OBC is a credit - anything you charge (except casino & a couple of other minor things like HMC) is applied against it.  No problem at all 🙂

Awesome, I wasn't sure if you could still buy the WiFi plan once on board or it had to be reserved in advance. Thanks!

Oh you can definitely buy it on board.  I always do 😉

Just log in on the navigator and it will give you the options.  Easy!

And the price goes down every day, as you cruise - I usually wait a day or two before I buy a package, as long as I trust that there's nothing much going on at home and I don't need to be in touch immediately.

PS I should have said that is the way it was - I don't know if that is how it will be when cruising resumes.
