Casino COVID policies/requirements?

Anybody know what has been happening in casinos on ships that have already started sailing?  What kinds of restrictions are there? What can we expect when cruises reopen out of US? Haven't seen Princess mention it.

The few ships that are currently sailing are in other parts of the world under guidance of the local authorities. I don't think you can find any accurate answer until much later this year. I would expect at first social distancing and mask wearing. The future???

We were in Las Vegas recently, casinos had plexiglass barriers between dealers and players.  We did not find it "pleasing" for us, I assume ship casinos will do the same.

In light of more studies, I wonder if the days of plexiglass will be gone.  For INDOOR venues, some are seeing little impact with distance... the stuff just mixes around.  Now, it's true that the density of the virus would decrease as it's further from a source, but with these recent studies, they're saying it's still an issue in a room.  I see that one can take it both ways.  Anywhere indoors isn't safe.. no matter the difference. Or the risk of spread is slight so if one isn't inches away, one is in pretty good shape.

For me, if I'm vaccinated, I don't care what is/isn't around me.  If one isn't comfortable, then one shouldn't be in that venue... which could include a cruise ship.  I find it a bit inconsistent that one is trusting a sheet of plexiglass with their life if one is worried about dying due to exposure of covid.  If one is worried about being exposed, one should just do everything they can to avoid it.  Otherwise, be prudent and live ones life... including cruising.

I mean, think about it, the death rate for covid will likely soon be the same scale of the flu (in the recent past.)  How many steps did casinos take to limit flu exposure?  Anyone recall many elderly at slots.. some with 0xygen tanks?  Flu for them could be deadly, yet they all played.

In So. Cal, the Indian Reservations (the ones close by me anyway) don't have plexiglass on the table games.  Some machines have plexiglass or they turn off every other machine.   There are many less from 6' apart.   When they reopened after the initial lockdown, they used to wipe down the machines constantly.....now I never see them doing it.  They do a temp check at the door, but the 3 friends I knew that had COVID, none of them ran even the slightest temp.

Let’s not forget that the  plexiglass shield is for BOTH parties safety.  Including the one who is required to be doing a job and doesn’t have the ability to choose not to be there. The Plexiglass shield and mask wearing IS  “do(ing) everything they can to avoid it”

I never had a temp, my family never had temps and only one of my staff had a temp. Only 1 of 9 that I know of.  The temp check is useless

The plexiglass was more to protect the employees in LV casinos.  Some LV casinos have now been allowed to removed plexiglass when the majority of it's employees have been vaccinated.  Masks are required in the casinos (monitored by security), physical distancing and hand sanitizer stations are everywhere.

The Cosmopolitan and Wynn Resorts have been allowed to go to 100% capacity in their casinos because most of their employees have been vaccinated and plexiglass is gone.

I understand.  But with my experience in the chemical industry, I still find it inconsistent to trust ones life to a sheet of plexiglass.  For a short term shield effect, count me in.  But for ongoing repetitive "release"  it's more show than go.  And lately, more studies are showing this to be the case.  Perception is NOT reality when it comes to exposures.

We were in Tunica last month. We stayed at the Goldstrike but found it hard to play there as only 3 were allowed per table and all were seperated by plexiglass. Next door at the Horseshoe, no plexiglass and full tables were allowed. Masks were required by both.....hard to get any read from that as to what ships will be allowed to do.

I have been going to casinos here in Vegas ever since His Excellency Sisolak allowed them to reopen after he ordered them closed on March 17, 2020.  Unlike grocery stores, Target, Home Depot and restaurants, I never saw casinos requiring patrons to line up outside to wait until someone else left the premises, due to capacity limits.   Not once.  So I never believed there are really effective "capacity limits" for casinos.

Although Security does sometimes enforce the mask mandate inside casinos (last night, at Wynn, I was warned that I must put my mask back up over my nose in between sips of my drink!), I often see people whose chins must need protection, because that is where their masks are.

If I have been fully vaccinated, I do not need the protection offered by masks, social distancing or plexiglass shields.  If I have not been vaccinated, that is my choice and His Highness Sisolak should leave me alone to freely accept the risks I am embracing!

If you have not been vaccinated knowing the risk why should a hospital put aside a bed for you since knew what could happen ?

No. You are asking other unvaccinated people to accept your unwillingness to protect them from the virus.

The main purpose of the masks for unvaccinated people is to help stop the spread of the virus if you contract the virus and are asymptomatic.

If you are not vaccinated and do not wear a mask when appropriate, you are showing you do not care if you might infect other people.

That was not our experience of being in LV last week......casinos were enforcing mask wearing as you entered everywhere and throughout, most visitors had masks on in the casinos we were in and even on the Strip the majority wore them, social distancing was in place everywhere and the casinos made 1 Billion in winnings last month.

If you really knew anything about the state of Nevada you would know that it is the State Gaming Board that sets the rules on how casinos will operate and not Sisolak......The State Gaming Board has and will handily fine casinos for not being in compliance with its rules.....and they do follow them if they want to stay in business......

State Gaming Board Members are appointed by the Governor, and serve at His pleasure.  So they are His proxies, and I attribute their rules to Him.

If you were in Vegas last week, I am sure you saw lots of people masking their chins and even more masking their mouths but not their noses.  Yes, they pulled up the mask for two minutes when Security admonished them, but they immediately pulled the mask down to take a swig of beer and left it down until Security came by the next time.
