Royal Caribbean Coastal Cruises

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I just got the email cancelling my October cruise on Serenade with an option to rebook on a new coastal cruise offering that launches tomorrow. Does anyone know if we will actually be domestic cruising by 17th December? Not sure if I should hold off or just lift and shift to next November…..

You know more than most people.

Can you post a screenshot?

They should have scheduled them out of Brisbane. Sydney might still be in lockdown in December.

Hope not for all of you.   With the push for 70% vaccinated by Christmas and opening up the economy slightly, short coastal cruising is looking a little bit more promising for early next year.

Nah. All good………now that the dweeb is buying votes and giving everyone $300,  all Australians will be vaccinated by December . 🤔

Ah, I can just see it now. Albo, excited by his 'great' idea comes up with a raft of incentives:

- $250 for filing your tax return

- $100 for renewing your drivers license

- $200 for completing the census

-$20 - $500 for voting (amount depends on who you vote for)

-$1000 for paying your union dues

Eventually no-one will do anything unless they get money for it 🙂

That is quite cynical, plenty of incentives are being offered around the world for Covid vaccinations.

So that’s from Royal Caribbean ?

No mention of Serenade.

Yep that was just a chunk of the cancellation email. I actually just spent an hour on the phone to them to lift and shift to next November on Radiance. I’d still consider a coastal cruise early next year but I’m not optimistic about it actually happening!

Here’s the lift and shift options they sent….

I wouldn't hold my breath over getting 70% vaccinated by Christmas. Some areas might reach that target - where I live has over 50% first doses and 26.9% fully vaccinated (one of the top two in Australia) but there are plenty of areas where vaccinations have barely started.

But there does appear to be some hope for coastal cruising if Brisbane and Sydney can keep things under control.

Agree, but at least there is hope now.   Before it was as if cruising was at the bottom of the to do list, but if the economy opens up, there is a chance for short coastal cruising.   I still think the 28 day one is cactus (but I hope I am wrong).

Boomers love their government handouts, freebies and incentives (*cough* negative gearing *cough*). If it gets them off their backsides to get a perfectly safe and effective vaccine and means young people can actually start living their life again - great!

And if it means we can get back on boats again - great!

They are giving up to 3 lift and shift options.

I hope you're wrong too. It's not until March so the vaccination levels might be OK by then.

Yes,  and will he backdate it for all of us who have already had our shot(s) or maybe it is just for his greenie/socialist mates who want everything for nothing .

Us boomers have already had our vaccinations. We're waiting on the young ones to get off their butts and get some medical advice so they can get AZ instead of hanging out for Pfizer.

I won't say any more on this so as not to derail the thread entirely - but yes it would be backdated. Seems better value to the taxpayer than the $billions paid in Jobkeeper to companies that turned massive profits and kept the money. Speaking of everything for nothing? Guess that only applies to the already rich?

If people will only get vaccinated if they get paid, then pay them. If they want lolipops then give them lolipops. Just get it done.

Maybe even give them a lottery ticket while they're at it. 🙄
