We are currently on the Simulation Cruise for the Oasis out of Bayonne and destined for Coco Cay.
Hurricane Henri had little affect on us.Smooth boarding and departure.

The captain surprised us by taking a close-up drive by the Statue of Liberty for a photo op. Everyone appreciated that.
The staff has been wonderful and are really glad to be back.
great weather today and smooth water.
Everything has been great.
From what we gathered there are 700-1000 on board. No crowds, empty deck chairs. Limited numbers allowed in the pools.
Saw CATS last night. Adult comedy tonight

I watched your sail away on the webcam.    was beautiful seeing her all lit up go under the verrazano bridge.

Sounds like you are having an Awesome trip!

Enjoy every minute of it.

Thanks much for sharing!  Have a wonderful relaxed time on Oasis with minimum cruisers. I did the Ovation Seattle-Alaska test and it was certainly a nice way to enjoy the ship, pool deck and dining venues without the crowds.

Wishing you great travel weather!

Did you do Salsa dance class?  It looks like fun, but we have not yet tried it.  Usually one of us chickens out.

Yes we did. The instructor is from Argentina and was a lot of fun. The class was done with everyone dancing apart, no partners due to distancing. Tomorrow is Mernague. All classes are taught, as he says, from “zero”. So you don’t need any advance knowledge of the dance. It was fun and easy. About 20 we’re in our class.

After you take a lesson , go to the Boleros bar and practice your new steps with the music. Great band from Mexico. They play Latin as well as standards. They are called “Marakas Quartet”

Excellent!  Sounds like a lot of fun.  I'm scheduled for Oasis sailing on 9.26

I don’t know if this will continue, however on this cruise all of the self-serve Coke machines are being staffed and are giving drinks out for free. Additionally we we offered free soda on the dining rooms.

Think that's only cause this is not a regular revenue sailing.

Regarding social distance. The deck chairs at the pools are in groups of 2 or 3 and spaced 6 feet from the next group. The attendants do not allow them to moved, not even a foot from their original position. This no problem with the Number we have on this cruise. Was just informed by one of the staff that the Numer of passengers on this cruise is only about 650.

I can see an issue when the ship goes to higher percentage onboard.

The elevators have signs limiting capacity of 6 people per car
