mina Posted August 25, 2021 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2021 We would like to know as well. I know there is an outdoor section with seating area just outside the Conservatory, but not aware of any indoor areas like Churchills on other ships. There was on the August 8th Alaska cruise which was the first cruise that required masks. Folks have reported that smoking has continued in the casino after that. Smoking is allowed ONLY if you're actively gambling. If you're not making a monetary deposit they will ask you to leave. Smokers have tried to use the Casino as indoor smoking area and many people complain so the casino staff will ask anyone to leave who doing that. Smoking is not well received today. I do not know about the Majestic, but the last time I cruised on a Grand or Crown class ship a portion of the casino had no machines/tables, just chairs that smokers used.

The Majestic doesn't have that. In fact, they don't even have a bar. The only seats in the casino are at the slot machines and at the gaming tables. There is a pot shop in Ketchikan, across the street from where the ship docks, right next to the Moose Lodge. Big green letters on the building.

Yeah I'm not gonna leave em in the same bag. Done it plenty. Mainly I bring a cart or 2 to vape on the balcony. No issues.
Rare Cruise Raider Posted August 26, 2021 #17 Share Posted August 26, 2021 Smoking is allowed in the casino but as a general policy, it is turned into a nonsmoking venue on formal nights. And yes, we've seen people smoking in the casino and not gambling. It gets really bad sometimes near the cashier's cage so, they will ask you to go to the outdoor section if not actually gambling. I wondered what they were for? Maybe @geoherbcan say if they are still there. I only recall a few people sitting in them, but not to smoke. On the second formal night, I did see a man sit at a machine and light up. He was sitting sideways, so didn't appear to be a player. Players around him quickly told him that it was a smoke free night and a casino worker walking by told him too.

Stateroom Smoking PolicyPrincess Cruises prohibits smoking or vaping of all types, including e-cigarettes, in guest staterooms and balconies. This reflects the preferences of a vast majority of our guests who value having their primary living space (both stateroom and balcony) smoke-free. As balconies are a hallmark of Princess Cruises, we believe it is important to keep this peaceful space clear of smoke. Violations to this policy will result in a $250 fine for each occurrence, which will be charged to the guest’s stateroom account. Keeping with the global trend toward more restrictive smoking policies and honoring the wishes of our guests, we feel this enhances our onboard experience. 4

Never had a charge. You can't smell this vape anyway. I'm not worried about it.

The smoke detectors can be quite sensitive in the rooms -- be aware that steam/vape can set them off and they will call the room to see what the issue is. 1

They have a sign as you enter saying that illegal drugs are not allowed and that anyone caught having them will be disembarked from the ship and be on their own. While the states have legalized marijuana, it's still not legal under federal law.

I only went to the casino last night--the second formal night because it was no smoking then. I haven't noticed any smoke drifting out of it on other nights.
