I was curious if anyone on board noticed if there were the Princess Covid testing sites at the pier yet, per their 9/2/21 notice and if so how much did it cost?

Cruises this week and next week (9/12) are still under the 3-day testing rule, so the folks who are embarking on 9/19 would probably be the first ones to see if this is in place yet. I'm sure they'll be shouting it from the rooftops once they have it set up.

We went to Walgreens for the rapid diagnostic test. Could only book 2 days out so Tuesday for Thursday test, but when I checked our local one the website said none available. Booked one about 27 miles away.  Easy test for both of us at the same time, went to lunch and got an email the results were in so a swing back to the drive thru to pick up signed copies and back home. The check in person at the pier did not recognize the test but checked with a medical person standing behind her and all was OK. It is new to them also.

Which test were you able to get the Rapid Diagnostic Test (ID Now) or the Rapid Antigen Test (BinaxNow)?

Nope not to my knowledge. We had to call to Sound Mobile Diagnostics and him meet us.

Walgreens let us down on our August 22nd. We took the test on August 19th. My wife got results back on the night of August 20th. We ended having have Sound Mobile Diagnostics come to our house, he'll meet you anywhere in a Seattle area and do the test for a fee. I don't know why they have to send the tests to a lab, it only takes about 20 minutes to get the test results from the mobile lab. His test paperwork was right, just what Princess wanted. Google Sound Mobile Diagnostics if you need a test in the Puget Sound area, that's the Seattle for those of you who don't know.

Masking required for using the Fitness center?

Thank you!

Yes, per sign.   It is open 24 hours and I went at 4am today. Only one crew member cleaning so I did cheat and drop my mask periodically.  Several others showed up about 5am and they were not wearing masks. Nothing was said

If anyone on this cruise uses the thermal suite, will you share whether you think it is worth buying the cruise long pass that entitles a passenger to use it 2 hours per day?  I would also be interested in the hours for the thermal suite.  I saw a previous posting that made me think it is only open from 8-10am.  Too early for me!  I sleep in while cruising and would still be yawning over coffee at 8am!  Any info appreciated.

I have the enclave pass. It is worth it.  Starting this cruise you can go at anytime and do not need to schedule.  Otis open from 8am till 9:30 pm.  Also not limited to two hours per day.  People in the area are wearing masks except when in the hydropool.

A few other observations as I seem to be able to post now. Have not been able to since getting on the ship. If you prepaid for specialty dining, be sure to bring your receipts.  Mine suddenly disappeared from the app and I needed to go to passenger services to get it re added.  They wanted to see my proof of payment.  Some may remember I had other specialty dining that I bought before the app went live and never showed on the app. Of course they had no record of these either.  As such my escalation to guest relations prior to the cruise to get a receipt was not over paranoia, as I showed them the emails from Santa Clara showing I had paid and they honored them. Of course took an hour at passenger services.  Also ultimate balcony dinner is not being honored even if you purchased in advance.  They called us to let us know they are limited to only 15 mins at a time in passenger cabins, so they can not do them. Instead, they refunded our money and gave us a complimentary specialty dining night.  They are doing ultimate breakfast as they just drop that off.   The casino has only six multi poker machines. Note that these are in the smoking section, if that bothers you. There are two smoking areas on the ship.  Deck 17 aft with chairs, tables and is covered. Sheltered from the wind. No cabins around.  Another area on Deck 7 port aft.  Just past the library. Partial covered and has nice teak loungers.  Large overhang and quite windy.  Alfredos has great gluten free pizza.  Crown grill is superb as usual.  Room service delivery has been fast with less then 20 min wait, but then we only ordered premade stuff.

Smoking sections have always been starboard (Deck 7).  I wonder why it would be different on Majestic Princess.

Wait you may be right. It is right past the library.  What ever side the library is on.

Treats from international cafe. Yes love food, that’s why I spend 90 mins in the gym in the early morning.  If I take photos of the food there are no calories… so trying that instead of ordering them all

It sounds like the vp machines I like to play are in smoking. 😒

Great pics mina. Thanks for sharing.  I am craving pizza as we speak!

There were not very many people smoking though and they did not have ashtrays out every where.  Pit boss told me there may be a few other machines on the non smoking side but I could not find them. It was worth it this morning for us😁 so today will be our only day of playing, as that was the only decent payout and lost quite a bit of it at three card later in the day. Dealers and put boss were quite friendly, even bought a round of drinks for the table. That does not mean much when you have the drink package though😁

Interesting…we’ve had many UBDs & staff were never inside our cabin for 15 minutes at any one time. They’d quickly set up the table & delivered each course before leaving our cabin to either wait in the hallway or go to the galley for the next course.

Happy to contribute to the live thread but I didn’t want the pressure of starting it!

I am doing a back to back- was onboard last week too.

I so agree about the staff saying “just for one?” Makes me uncomfortable on my first solo cruise.

I got an upsell offer to a full suite mid-week last week so I took it. The cabin is lovely and the staff is great. However, breakfast in Harmony was just too over the top. I don’t need to be checked on by every staff member every 2 minutes. I think I will go back to the dining room tomorrow. Last week there was usually someone to talk with at a nearby table or I could read without saying everything is good every 2 minutes. Just my opinion- I am sure most people would love Harmony.

With the B to B I had to get tested yesterday at the Medical Center. I was told when to show up and that I would only be notified if I was positive. Nice and easy but who knows how it will be in the future.

So you didn't have to disembark with all your luggage?  Test day before disembarkation?

@eaglecw We are flying in to Seattle a few days early and have a few questions about the process of calling sound mobile diagnostics.

How far in advance must you call for an appointment?

What is the cost for the test?  We couldn’t find the fee on their webpage after reading your post.

We have one scheduled at the airport upon arrival, but would like a back up plan, especially if our plane is delayed on Thursday afternoon.  Sea-Tac is charging $200 for a rapid test.  Thanks for sharing.

TABLE SIZE ON THE BUMP-OUT BALCONIES ?

Are the tables on the bump out larger balconies the full height tables or the little knee-high snack sized tables?  We are going to be in R-416 next month but any similar size mini-suite info will help.

Cruise safe!

Nope- stayed onboard. They said it was because we had not been to another country. Test was 8:45 am on disembark/embark day- Sunday. Told to show up to Medical Center and I did. My name was on a list and told I would only hear from them if it was positive. No charge.
