HOBE SOUND CRUISER Posted September 22, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 22, 2021 They will confiscate any extension cord you try to bring on board. Just ask your staterom attendant for one and it will be supplied.

PigsCanFly Posted September 22, 2021 #7 Share Posted September 22, 2021 Yes they are not allowed. We have taken 1 or two on the last 15+ cruises we have sailed. Unfortunately, the last cruise we were on ended in early March, 2020. It has not been allowed for quite a while. You definitely do not want anything with surge protection. Due to the ship wiring it would be a fire hazard. We have brought a cord to make use of the sometimes single outlet in some ships. If they take it away, we make due during the cruise without and get the cord back when disembarking. (Only happened once)
cynt Posted September 22, 2021 #8 Share Posted September 22, 2021 (edited) What in the world besides a phone are you guys bringing on board? Ok my dad has a cpap machine so he has two things to plug up in his cabin. So what else are you bringing on board that you need more than one extension cord? OK that sounds a little rude Cynt. I'm really just wondering what are you guys bringing on board? Am I missing something? O and I'm not a gadget person. Phone and O my kindle and that's it for electronics for me. Ashland Posted September 22, 2021 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2021 The ship supply's one for my DH CPAP...Have never had a problem requesting one that was noted on our booking or having our steward get one for us.
zerooveride Posted September 22, 2021 #10 Share Posted September 22, 2021 I am new to RCCL, so from what I gather from reading is that they will provide them for CPAP machines? Both me and my wife use CPAPs so will they provide 2? I know on NCL, they tell you to bring your own. If you bring one and they take it, will it be returned to you at the end of the cruise? Sunburg1 Posted September 22, 2021 #11 Share Posted September 22, 2021 Granted I have not cruised since early 2020 but cruise lines I have sailed on , including NCL have always furnished a long extension cord if I asked for one. I always bring a short cord for my clock. You cannot bring surge protectors

CruiseKeeper Posted September 22, 2021 #14 Share Posted September 22, 2021 On Oasis now. Special needs supplied one. 😀. CPAP plugs in behind bed, no extension cord required but have theirs to use. Score.

ampurp85 Posted September 23, 2021 #18 Share Posted September 23, 2021 @cynt To answer: some people cruise and work so it might be a phone and laptop. Maybe also a CPAP machine, a fan, an electric alarm clock and camera equipment. There is usually only 2 plugs in most cabins so people need more than 1 outlet. Then you need to multiply that by the number of people in the cabin. So 4+ gadgets for 1 outlet????
Rare livingonthebeach Posted September 23, 2021 #19 Share Posted September 23, 2021 I can’t vouch for the veracity of the claim, but this company states their extension cord is approved for cruise ships since it is not a surge protector. https://www.amazon.com/Desktop-Outlet-Braided-Extension-Office/dp/B07HCVFH82/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=Approved+extension+cord+for+cruises&qid=1632359690&sr=8-
crzndeb Posted September 23, 2021 #20 Share Posted September 23, 2021 I will say I have an extension cord in my Cpap bag (non surge protected), that is there for hotel stays prior to cruise, if needed. I have contacted special needs prior and have received a cord from them, but have never had the one in my Cpap bag taken.

I use a multi adapter with 2x USB ports plugged into the Euro outlet for laptop (when I carry one) and more outlets for phones/pads/whatever. This is one form, I just got some of these - https://www.amazon.com/European-VINTAR-International-Compatible-American/dp/B07WRWX15J/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?_encoding=UTF8&c=ts&dchild=1&keywords=Electrical+Adapters&qid=1632402394&s=lamps-light&sr=1-2-spons&ts_id=6396124011&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFMQkxKWUE1V0RDQ1cmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAwNjU2MTIxNDBSNVUzNkZTREFWJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAzMDAzMDkzR0tTUjhOQzFUMEE1JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== And I have used one of these for many years - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DJNR9LM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=
