Does not need correcting.  I don't know if I will be allowed to?

I may also be accompanied if we go that far.

Man, there is something about your attitude that makes me root for you.

Good luck for sure...

This all started when MSC decided not to keep Armonia over here, hence the Salsa cruise was moved to Divina.

Sometime later the hamster running the wheel discovered the Divina was scheduled for a 3 and 4 night cruise that week so changed it to a 7 night cruise.

However said hamster forgot to stop regular people booking any of those 3 cruises until recently, hence some regular cruisers hopped on some nice prices for that 3/4/week cruise.

Now salsa took all YC and bumped regular people out.....but have not told them yet.

I am sorely tempted to take the hour drive up there and sell tickets to watch this all play out.

Don't you mean when they don't give me everything I paid for?

My last confirmation from MSC for my YC GS is dated 9/17/2021  that is only 13 days ago.

The problem is that cruise contracts favor the cruise line to a ridiculous extent. Legally, you’ve paid for very little. All that stuff in the website - legally - is meaningless. Morally you may be entitled to a lot more; I’m just saying don’t be sure you’ll get it.

I agree 100% with this, and yet...mscdivina has made a believer of me. It's like by sheer willpower he's going to make it happen.

I have someone who states otherwise on so many fronts.  Issue is the cost.  I can assure you that if need be, 12 people will be appalled at the whole situation.

I will spend 5 figures if need be as I will get it back no doubt.

See? This is the attitude. This is what makes me a believer and makes me root for you.

That’s who I’m thinking about as well. None of our friends that we travel with are on CC, they rely on me to pass on all of the info.
I have a feeling that terminal is going to be a nightmare that day.

I am thinking the same thing.

Many people showing up for cruise and finding out they are not going to receive what they contracted for.  Many may be first time to MSC, not review their cruise documents and luggage tags to see they are on Deck 8.  Not understanding that Deck 8 is NOT YC.

AND..finding out this is a Salsa Charter and they have priority on the ship.

Normally I’d think it cool to meet up with a fellow Cruise Criticer on a cruise. But I’m not sailing with Thurston Howell III. That guy picks the worst ship.

It was in an email that they sent the 3/4 day cruisers and someone copied it on here.  They said that due to the Salsa organization chartering the cruise, the regular people (not salsa group cruisers) had 3 options.  One of the options was to have the entire fare refunded.

that was me who posted the note on the 3/4 day cruise.

I had the same experience - first email charged me the cancellation fees but I was too busy with work and figured I would deal with it in a day or two.  Within that day or two I got the updated cancellation with no fees.

Now on Celebrity 10/30.  REports are they are sailing 15-30% full if anyone wants to join in.

I contacted MSC today and told them that Thursday is the last day for me to try and work something out with them before I take actions which cannot be reversed.

They put me thru to a Manager, who told me he was going to notify legal to send me an email.

I tried to switch to another cruise but they want me to pay extra.

He agreed with me that this whole situation is not right.

He told me that corporate is dealing with this, I asked how do I get a hold of that department and he told me I can't.

I have exhausted every avenue a reasonable person would have done, but they are uncooperative.

Stay tuned

This whole thing is fascinating from an arm's length. I'd love to see how it goes down. Deck 8 is NOT YC nor will it ever be YC. Anyone whom they put in that situation should be fully reimbursed (IMO) or offered another 7 night Caribbean sailing of their choosing. MSC is making more money in whole on this Salsa cruise then they would "lose" by re-accommodating some pax.  I wish I could be at the port to witness this fiasco (and PR nightmare!)

They are offering to allow you to cancel for a full refund if you call and complain, but what good is that? They had my money for a year, we planned things around the cruise and are shoved under the bus.

I got a great deal on a Grand YC suite, they want $2500 more to move me to the next week.

The manager I did speak with 2 days ago said we will get "No" notification whatsoever. If they notify us, they will have to abide by the contract then. I insisted and he said he will let legal know.

He also told me despite my tickets showing YC, I will not get any part of that at all.

Wow!  I am glad I went ahead and cancelled! (Still curious to see how long the refund takes).  Flying in and out was the issue for us.  I managed to get the flights changed and hubby changed his vacation yet again.

I had wondered about the YC area and amenities.  On one or more of my many calls to them they assured me that I would have all the YC amenities.  I wondered how they would handle that. Had I kept the reservation and gone I'm not sure how much hate and discontent I would have caused once onboard and I found out that for the + $3000 I got basically nothing except balcony room.

This entire situation has really soured me on MSC.  Our next 2 cruises are on Celebrity unless there is just a perfect deal "free casino room or greatly reduced casino rate" I'm gone I think.

That’s what I was afraid they’d say.

So what do you plan on doing at this point because it sounds like MSC doesn’t have any intention of delivering what you booked and paid for?

Same thing for us Armonia bookings, totally ignoring their very own section 15 of terms and conditions.

15.  CANCELLATION BY THE COMPANY
The Company reserves the right to cancel any Cruise Package at any time by giving written notice to
the Passenger.  In such cases the Company will offer the Passenger the choice of   (a) receiving a full
refund of all money paid  outside of cancellation  penalties;  (b) booking another  Cruise  Package  of
equivalent or superior quality at no extra cost, if available, from the Company’s brochure and/or from
the Official Website; or  (c) booking another  Cruise  Package  from the Company’s brochure  and/or
from the Official Website of lower quality, if available, with a refund of the difference in price. In no
event shall the Company or Carrier be liable for any consequential damages or other damages as a
result of such cancellation.
