Just wanted to say I'm a bit envious of you folks!  I'm still not ready to travel (5hr direct flight, which is non-existent now) but I'd love to get away....  Might have to say ____ and go soon.

Nice itinerary, I'll live vicariously through this if y'all don't mind!  Enjoy the sailing!

If using BOGO they really want you to use it on nights one and two only.

I had booked Coastal Kitchen for night one (filet night) and wanted to use my BOGO for nights two and three.  This met some resistance and was difficult to execute.  The benefit of cruising frequently is getting to know the right people who can assist with getting it done.  It was clear all the restaurant staff had the same consistent message - BOGO is nights one & two only.

We used it day 1 and day 4, it was suggested by the host at Giovanni's when I mentioned that I would prefer different days since I was going to Giovanni's for both.
But on the Anthem they wouldn't budge at first. Our wait staff was able to change that to day 1 and day 6.

I would like to thank you and Laura for the live thread. It is making life feel "normal"

Now for your old fashions. I am a burbon girl, like em neat. I do not like bullet. But since you had a variety of different burbons and a rye in your old fashions, did you have a favorite??

I'm not sure yet. Still in learning stages.

But I've liked them all so far

Was told 6-8 weeks for the one we are waiting on from Oasis this month.  Maybe the timeframe varies by ship???

Am still waiting for one from early December...and in fact earned another one early last month.  Neither has shown up yet.

Hi!  Can’t remember if you posted a pic of the SL… and this thread is so, so long (in a good way, I’m loving it!). If you go back, can you take a pic? 🙂

Third attempt to post SL pics 😉

Lots of blocked seats, but not a problem with no guests

Thanks!  We are here...crazy traffic an hour out from Ft. Lauderdale, to be expected.  But no traffic jams.  On board just after 11:30, nice lunch in CK.  🙂   Got all my dining reservations made, now need to make show reservations...can't seem to do it on the frustrating "app".   😣

Nice JS (4) forward cabin on the aft hump, great view down the sides of the ship.  No full suite this time, when I booked...the full suites had been sold out for months.  The "Royal UP" was a failure, and I am happy to keep this for both legs...not going to ask for upgrade at GS.

So royal is now your "retirement  home"?😁 Glad you can continue to cruise!! And BTW it was 23 this morning in NW Florida.  So be happy with 46 yesterday!

@John&LaLa - the coffee/espresso machine you posted the photo of, is that in WJ, or somewhere else? We are big coffee lovers and wonder how it compares to a coffeehouse type of espresso drink. Any thoughts? We are considering the coffee card to get our fix, but this would save some money.

This is in the SL, they may have a similar on in DL, I haven't visited yet. Obviously need to be at least Diamond in C&A to use DL

This one was very nice.  JS and higher have a Lavazo espresso machine in room. Made a decent lungo yesterday

John and chime in, but IIRC they're in the suites.  Not in the regular cabins.  Coffee on Royal is now LavaZZa. But free unless you want the froufrou flavored lattes.

I LOVE that apple danish! I had way more than my fill!

Best place to get them on the Oy are in WJ bakery right up front, and the toasting staions in WJ. The upfront ones are fresh and warm....OMG they were SO good, I wish I brought the to go food containers! 😁Ummm Umm Ummm!

We are still marked with the "steerage gold card." 🤣 I guess we'll be buying the coffee card to get our fix.

Cape Codder in Coastal Kitchen

Since then its been Espresso Martini

Bullitt Old Fashioned

Another Cape Codder in CK

And two Old Fashions in casino

One Buffalo Trace and one Tenpleton Rye

Great start. I will be curious which Old Fashioned you like better, Rye or Bourbon?

Or have a bartender make you a Sea Dog Old Fashioned

Meletti Amaro 1/2 oz (Ship may not have this so you could substitute with vermouth, gammel Dansk, or Chartreuse

Bourbon 1 oz

Rye 1oz

Orange Oleo Saccharum Syrup 1/2oz (Or simple syrup)

Or 2 dashes orange bitters

Like I said, we're rocking

20220129_211714.thumb.jpg.559e5b92abddd2e2fca10ef6ffbde82c.jpg

Thank God, we are not prone to motion sickness so never had the problem except one time on the old Splendor of the Seas.  The rolling and rockin didn't bother us, but Todd had to lead me down the hallway with my eyes closed and holding my nose shut because of the barf in the floor...isch, I know TMI, but Henry was doing overtime on that cruise.  People at breakfast the next morning were all saying how they'd never cruise again!  Funny.
