Do you have a link to that, I cant seem to find it.  Everything I see still indicates the 14th and it still requires masks on board in unvaccinated areas

Expand the section that reads: Will I be required to wear a mask onboard?

Ummm that is Celebrity, this is the Royal board here.

Celebrity has always had different mask guidance than Royal.

I'm well aware of what board this is. I've been here a lot longer than you. LOL

Well since in your post and the post you quoted there was no reference to Celebrity at all its certainly easily taken that what you were posting applied to Royal since that what this thread is about without having to remember something from 20 posts back.

Just updated today:

"Effective for all sailings departing February 12, 2022 forward, masks will not be required onboard for vaccinated guests unless attending activities in the Theatre or Casino. Masks will continue to be required for unvaccinated guests, under 12 years old, at all times indoors except while eating or drinking."

Is this for real.... on RCI?

I believe one section of the website states effective for sailings Feb 15 and beyond.

It was also just confirmed on the weekly travel agent webinar

A nitpick, but based on your post, your thread title is a day off.  Should be "effective Feb 15th".  Things may have changed since your OP, but maybe ask a mod to update the title?

If you think that’s bad, try telling everyone on our 11 February Anthem sailing that this doesn’t mean we’re going to be maskless after the night of the 14th. Many of the cruisers in the f b group seem slightly… confused.

So what happens if your cruise departs feb 12?  Are you just out of luck.?

The CDC has just issued an update for the cruise industry. Not great news. If this holds, I think that we will see more mandates from the industry on boosters. Will be interesting to see how the industry reacts to the latest updates.

I guess with state after state dropping mandates despite the CDC recommendation, they feel the need to flex their muscles in the last place that still pays some attention to them.

Have to admit that I’m surprised at the new protocols. I expected them to be relaxed.

Perfect timing for my 2/14 cruise, too!

Nope! Read the whole thing . Only applies to cruise DEPARTING 2/15 or later, on all other cruises masks will be required  in vax only area.

we are also screwed on 2/13 departure. Don't know what the deal will be with the casino.55D7E747-B004-4829-9FDF-FCE2758FBCB4.thumb.jpeg.efb208f76d7c70000533e9d981d74393.jpeg

Because the virus behaves differently on cruises that departed before Feb 15? Things that make you just wonder.🙄

Apparently, the CDC has informed cruise line executives that if they opt out of the voluntary CSO program, by eliminating mask mandates, they will fall into the category of "general transportation", which is covered by an Executive Order, in place since last February, that covers all ships, of all types, of all nations, that wish to enter the US.  While this order does not require testing or vaccination, and specifically says it does not take into account the vaccination status, it does require masks at all times when indoors (except in cabin).

As the USCG is tasked with granting clearance to vessels to enter the US, they will be applying this order to all cruise ships that are not following the voluntary CSO.

Same here. I pop in over here from time to time for old times sake but mainly just lurk and SMH at some of the “stuff” posted. Some things never change. 🙂 My next three cruises are on X. Right now we’re watching Italy as that’s where our next cruise leaves from. Fingers crossed. Been trying to get there for two years. I know, first world problems.

Yeah, I have two sailings this summer that I haven’t cancelled, but I don’t think there is any chance of going on out of Italy.  Even if they happen I am not at all sure I want to deal with it right now.  So, I will likely cancel.
