It was posted in a new thread because this one will surely go bye bye. Since they updated it to read "For cruises departing February 15, 2022 and later, " I'm going to assume it's current!

Thanks for keeping us posted...I read the date incorrectly.

But how do you or i know that you or I have or don't have COVID and are or are not high risk?

Anyone, during these times, who doesn't know the importance of knowing if they are high risk or not has bigger issues going on.

This is a good initial step. I will be on Allure OTS on Feb 27th, so it's nice to know I will not need to be masked up all the time while in doors. I don't mind the mask. I use N95s properly, but being on a vessel where everyone has been tested and Im vaccinated and boosted, I don't feel the burning need to be masked up 100% of the time.

The only downside is smoking will be back in the casino 😞

I hope in the near future we will be able to drop the testing requirement, especially if Royal requires vaccination for everyone who is eligible for vaccination. (Yes, this includes the 5-11 year old group), followed by near normalcy in 2023.

Am I missing something? RCI’s website has had the February 14, 2022 date on their page for awhile, unless my memory is getting bad.

I believe one section of the website states effective for sailings Feb 15 and beyond.

It was also just confirmed on the weekly travel agent webinar

Masks no longer required in vaccinated only areas starting Feb 14th

How about just make them optional everywhere on board?  That way, the 120 people on an Oasis ship who want to wear them can, and the rest of us won’t.  Cheers!

Time will tell:  We depart on a cruise 2/13.  Since it departs BEFORE 2/15, will we need to wear masks for the duration of this cruise or will the mask requirement be lifted on 2/15?  Hmmm....

Let us know. It wouldn't surprise me if there would be a lot of looking in the other direction from the staff.

It will probably be lifted. I was on a cruise when one of these policies started and it started mid cruise

Unfortunately for some I have also heard through a rep that read me an e mail that smoking in the casino would also start to be allowed

That is fact. It was reported today On Vicki Freed's Coffee talk. Mask are not required in the Casinos and smoking can resume after Feb 15.  I was hoping this was an avenue to end it once and for all.

Thanks for the info. We have a cruise in March and didn’t want to get too excited yet about a possible less restrictive mask policy.

It is about as "silly" as the mask requirements on a cruise ship which do no good

It's not just ships.  Same in Vegas.  Went to Mastro's Ocean Club.  Had to wear masks to go to your table.  We were seating so close to the table next to us (both sides) that I had to turn sideways to get to my chair.

More Covid "logic". Also, good to see those plexiglass barriers as well are still in place at some retail checkouts....

On my Oasis 2021 thanksgiving sailing, I was sitting 1-2 feet away in booth seating from the part next to us at a different table.

I think you fat-fingered and added the 0...although I believe there are approx 14 on an oasis class sailing.

Agree. We only wear our masks when it's mandatory. Glad all the places we go to locally do not mandate face masks. Our local Wal Mart and a few other business are handing out N95 masks. We now have a bunch of them along with the blue ones but haven't opened them

You are always generous with your time and knowledge, and I am sorry a few selfish posters will get yet another informative thread locked because they have to repeat the same old boring arguments again!

Don't be sorry...it's a day to celebrate!  Ignore the comments you don't like and smile at reality.  Good things are coming, and soon!!
